AnnA™ Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 So far, I'm just so impressed with their work. They work so hard and have all these pressure and high expectations from everyone and put out rock operas and everything.Basically I love everything they do. Sure, there are songs I love less then others but I've never wished for Green Day to be any different. As far as where they're going, they've got my full support. I don't think too much of what they could've done, but only of what they've actually done. I don't really analyze what could've been, when I already love what's there. =)They still manage to blow me away. And as long as they keep doing that, I don't think I'll bother to complain.
parinaz Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 oh I re ask one of my questions (think it's been ignored) do you know if there was any special reaon GD didn't answer to the 2006/2007 Q&A?
Guest Green Day Band Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 A few more...PLAYING LIGHTS OUT LIVEBillie mentioned once a while ago that he wants to play Lights Out live again but he's yet to actually do it. It may happen, it may not. I haven't heard anything about it.TAKING SONG REQUESTS/PLAYING OLDER SONGS AT CONCERTSThe upsetting thing about how big Green Day is now is that they hardly get to do much 'extra' at their concerts because of a whole heap of restrictions with their tour management and the venues. The boys don't personally care about requests, but you'd be hard pressed to actually get them playing those songs. And as far as playing older songs, unfortunately if it's not in the set, it probably won't happen. BILLIE'S ACOUSTICYes, that's a signature -GD
farley drexel hatcher Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 i don't think the lyrics in Breakdown had as much humour as other albums. i mean look at warning, or nimrod, there was some damn funny stuff there, but it seems to be lacking from breakdown.Actually no, I think its there, its just a different type of humour, more sarcastic in places. A bit darker.
Bohemian+Scandal Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Do you know how the band feels about these recent Foxboro music video leaks? Some people suggested that it was the band themselves who didn't want them released and that's why they weren't.
parinaz Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 what is GD's relationship with warner? a lot of fans here despise warner, but what is the bands view on them?THIS.
Princess Consuela Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 oh I re ask one of my questions (think it's been ignored) do you know if there was any special reaon GD didn't answer to the 2006/2007 Q&A?I think this makes up for it!
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Some more questions answered....you guys are very curious! SHOW IN NETHERLANDSAt this stage, I haven't heard anything about a show in the Netherlands. Don't give up hope, I'm sure they'll play there in the near future.WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS LIVE ACOUSTIC VERSIONBillie refuses to play this song unless it's part of the set so I doubt it will be played as an acoustic encore. You must remember WMUWSE is a very personally touching song for him and he doesn't like playing it live very much. -GDOkay, thanks for answering And on WMUWSE, it was more of a question because it has been played a lot in the acoustic encore since October 16th (actually, in every show spare one in Brisbane, and two or three in Asia), but okay.
parinaz Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Do you know how the band feels about these recent Foxboro music video leaks? Some people suggested that it was the band themselves who didn't want them released and that's why they weren't.I second this

The Disappearing Boy Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Actually no, I think its there, its just a different type of humour, more sarcastic in places. A bit darker.true. i guess i just liked the more 'out there' humour of songs like the grouch and king for a day.
Liam Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 A few more...BILLIE'S ACOUSTICYes, that's a signature -GDawesome. do you know if it will be a signature you can buy in stores or is it a signature for him self
minorityxdisturbed Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I must admit that I enjoy Green Day more in the 90's but I fucking love them in this era, I think that all they make it's great, for me they are great musicians. I love their rock opera, I think they have go above on their music, and I still love it, I think that everything that they make it's great they take music so serious.
Li Sa Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I really like what they are doing =)Are more concerts than the yet announced ones in planning? PS: If this was asked before just ignore but i hadn't the time to read the whole topic yet
Bohemian+Scandal Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I asked this tis ok i'll forgive you aha. I know! Sorry about that. I noticed it after I posted mine!As a little fun question, is Billie Joe aware that this gem of a video exists on the interwebs? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o2SQTPHKvg

Lights Out is my next quest...that and Homecoming When you say, the boys dont care, meaning they dont mind having requests? Because both Mike and Billie seemed to be exstatic I had a sign with a bunch of songs on it haha.Wait, did you say..play Lights Out live..AGAIN? I've never heard of it being played live?!Oh yeah, the situation on fans playing Jesus of Suburbia live, would they consider doing that again?
parinaz Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 but i don't understand what do you mean by "where gd is going" were are they going? they're just making album as usual is that something more we don't know?
Guest Green Day Band Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Some more...WMUWSE ACOUSTIC ENCORESYes, the song was part of the setlist for those performances HUMOUR IN 21st CENTURY BREAKDOWN LYRICSI recall Billie saying that he wasn't after funny with this album, he was after angry and thought-provoking and deep and dark, but I remember Tre making a point of it, telling him none of the songs were funny. Billie responded with 'from this day forth you write lyrics for this band'. It was obviously a joke, but Billie doesn't seem to care.FOXBORO HOT TUBS VIDEOS LEAKEDIt was actually the band who didn't release the videos, they didn't want to. I know people say 'well why did they make the videos?' I can't answer that question, I can only say they didn't want the videos released. And yes, they're aware the videos are out there and Billie is more disappointed then angry. Mike and Tre don't seem to care at all.BAND'S RELATIONSHIP WITH WARNERThe band is actually on very close terms with Warner. Like Billie said to one of their higher guys, 'hey. If we didn't like you we wouldn't be fuckin working with you. So don't piss me off. Don't piss me off or my band off and don't you DARE piss my crew (the fans) off.'2006/2007 Q&AUnfortunately I have absolutely no idea. -GD
Sanny Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Hello stranger! Isn't it like...3 o'clock in the morning in California right now? Now that is what I call dedication to one's job. Anyways...I've been trying to answer your question as good as I can but...I just can't. It's weird, I've been sitting here for an hour now trying to find the right words but they won't come. I'll come back later and see if I can answer you then, but it would be something like:I do like their new direction to a certain extent. I LOVE 21st CB but personally, I'd like to see a non-rock-opera album next. More to come later...I hope haha...
farley drexel hatcher Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Just an FYI - i'm not sure how but technically it was Warners fault the FHT videos were leaked they pretty much came directly from them. It must have been a mistake on someone there's behalf, obviously it wasn't intentional. I don't really know any other details though.I can understand Billie being disappointed though.Did they ever find out how the 21 Century Breakdown demo leaked?
parinaz Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 wow. thanks for answering. it seems that billie is so touchy about the video getting leaked. and it's confirmed that it was GD(actually billie) who didn't want them to be leaked.and lol@billie's respond to tre. how dare he.
Princess Consuela Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 FOXBORO HOT TUBS VIDEOS LEAKEDIt was actually the band who didn't release the videos, they didn't want to. I couldn't care less what Warner wants or doesn't want, but when it's the boys that didn't want people to see it, it's a completely different story.
parinaz Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 BAND'S RELATIONSHIP WITH WARNERThe band is actually on very close terms with Warner. Like Billie said to one of their higher guys, 'hey. Guest Green Day Band Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 well I got him to play Scattered in Brisbane. When I say they don't care, I mean they would do it. They're happy to do it. As in they wouldn't be angry or just flatly refuse.I'll have to edit the Lights Out 'live'. Just take the again out of the sentence my head wasn't in the game, sorry. The boys LOVE the idea of fans playing the songs, in fact there was an aftershow drink up we had and Billie was yelling about how he wanted the boy who played Jesus of Suburbia that night for them to tour with them. Also on the question...ARE THERE MORE CONCERTS THEN ALREADY ANNOUNCED IN PLANNING?There sure are. The date and venue list is far from finished. So keep an eye out.-GD
