Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Yes, I really like the direction Green Day is heading. I love the old and the new stuff, and everything in between. It shows they're evolving, it would be plain weird if they would still sing about masturbation and pot. Normally I can write novels about this topic, but for some reason right now I can't squeeze more than those one and a half line out Green Day have hugely influenced me. I haven't been a fan for a very long time yet, but they've changed me, in a very good way. I've formed my own opinion on things, did things I wanted to do, not things other people would've rather seen me doing, I grew up, they've inspired me, and I'm them very grateful for that. and thanks for coming on this board and answering questions =DI have two questions, do you know if there is going to be a show in the Netherlands? and, this might seem a bit of a weird question, has Billie said anything about playing Wake Me Up When September Ends in the acoustic encores in the live shows? (and on that one, could it be possible that you'd thank Billie for playing the song in the show in Rotterdam (and almost all the shows since that one), it meant/means a lot to me)
Bohemian+Scandal Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 they did:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVbwVejOicsI'm pretty sure he meant a REAL video. Not just some live footage dubbed over with the studio recording.
matteo263 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I'm pretty sure he meant a REAL video. Not just some live footage dubbed over with the studio recording. yeah
Princess Consuela Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I explained why. but is it only me? anyway I think the music industry is going to a horrifying way....Fair enough. Disgusting is not a word I'd use here, though.
Kaddi. Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Just a few more of your questions:POSSIBLE BERLIN/POLAND SHOWBerlin is definitely on the cards. I know the guys want to play there. As far as Poland, I'm really unsure. I'll have a look for you and see if there's any talk of it. At this stage, I've only heard about wanting to play Berlin.-GDSo, they really think about playing in Berlin this summer? That'd be so great!
gdpony Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 well, in my opinion, Green Day has done great over the years, all of their albums are different, and thats something, I think, the fans like and respect. Making albums that always sound the same, make people lose interest in the band, while with green day it has never been like that, its often hard to pick a favorite GD album for that reason, because each of the albums has like its own personality, 21cb and american idiot may be similar, bout you cant say that they are the same, I personally like 21cb more than AI. I really dont think the band is doing anything wrong... and also, its up to them to decide what wrong choices they have made. They have an amazing connection with the fans, their shows are great, the music is awesome. Even their side projects are great. The guys have done an amazing job, they´ve been my fav band for 10 yrs! and I love them to death! ... the only thing I would ask of them, is to come to my country (Honduras), or somewhere near it! ... which is imposible.. or most likely to never happen! ... other than that ... they´re perfect ... and they should keep doing what they like, and not listening to what people want them to do!
silviagreen Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 This thing about Finland is awesome. Like Juliette said, it's great how much they care about their fans. I so hope they'll do something similar for Italy too
parinaz Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Do you know anything about the reason of the long gap between this album and previous?and another one: could you please tell us if this is band who decide about their website layout!specially the last layout beforereleasing the album( black & white with birds and sunset)
Guest Green Day Band Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 As far as the comments regarding the East Jeus Nowhere music video, the guys have been putting that off. Billie said he wants the video to be something big and exciting; I would say he's waiting for the epiphany. "No, no. East Jesus has to be big. And fuckin exciting. It has to come on the TV and make the whole nation stand up and put their hands on their hearts." - Billie during a meeting about the music video.-GD
skindogfuss Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 He meant like a proper video...instead of just live footage put togetherand others-According to my stations media section that's what the band wanted as their video. It's what was released for Music Channels on TV (mtv, etc).edit: time to sack the media people!

parinaz Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Fair enough. Disgusting is not a word I'd use here, though.you mean you're agree about this that record label could be involved in selecting singles? even when we noticed that billie wanted static age as a single and didn't get replied from Warner? but Warner should stick to it's own shit and let them be free on this one.
Greenday_Aussie Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Is there a chance the boys would ever play Lights Out live? Its a fantastic song, and on that note, how do they feel about taking song requests and playing older songs at concerts?

Guest Green Day Band Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Some more questions answered....you guys are very curious! SHOW IN NETHERLANDSAt this stage, I haven't heard anything about a show in the Netherlands. Don't give up hope, I'm sure they'll play there in the near future.WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS LIVE ACOUSTIC VERSIONBillie refuses to play this song unless it's part of the set so I doubt it will be played as an acoustic encore. You must remember WMUWSE is a very personally touching song for him and he doesn't like playing it live very much. THE GAP BETWEEN AMERICAN IDIOT AND 21st CENTURY BREAKDOWNI shouldn't really have to answer this, but Billie is a perfectionist with his albums. He wanted everything on 21st Century Breakdown to be just right. Also, the band wanted a break after American Idiot, it was a good 6-7 months after American Idiot was released before Billie even started writing new Green Day material.-GD
†...HAUSHINKA...† Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 it would be much appreciated if you'd pass to the guys that italian Green Day fans do NOT approve them to play at that festival thanks so muchplease, don't pass it to the guys...the heineken jammin festival is better than nothing!!is the choise is between green day at the heineken jammin festival or nothing I choose GD at the HJF, definetely!!!about the rest...what GD is doing for me relatively, they conquested me years ago sono what they represent to me can't change anymore...even if I can't appreciate a particular thing about what they do, I always appreciate the intention, the spirit and the energy they use to do something...and even if they reached a so great popularity they can't do without to get in touch with fans! I'm proud of them!
The Disappearing Boy Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 i don't think the lyrics in Breakdown had as much humour as other albums. i mean look at warning, or nimrod, there was some damn funny stuff there, but it seems to be lacking from breakdown.
St. Banana Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 As with everything that sounds too good to be true, Im slightly sceptical..But seeing as the things you have said have brought such a big smile to my face, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt I was just wondering whether they know that the Stop Drop and Roll!!! and Mother Mary videos were leaked..and how they feel about it?
matteo263 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Some more questions answered....you guys are very curious! -GDwhat can we say we are fans! thaanks for your help again
