Maddy. Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 for me it's like I know them for a decade or so, I can't imagine how life was without knowing them I had money before I knew them. Now, I spend every penny I've got on Green Day stuff. And other bands, of course. For me, the whole discovering of Green Day was really exciting. Falling in love with the albums one by one was magical.
E!!i Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Basket Case I was 12 and one of my friends made me listen to it. I was 3 when Basket Case came out. I had money before I knew them. Now, I spend every penny I've got on Green Day stuff. And other bands, of course. For me, the whole discovering of Green Day was really exciting. Falling in love with the albums one by one was magical. for me too but now I don't spend so much money on them except the concerts (that's enough money^^)

E!!i Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Omg yes. and a long time I couldn't really choose what song I love most but now it's Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Maddy. Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 and a long time I couldn't really choose what song I love most but now it's Boulevard of Broken Dreams Same, it's my all time favourite no matter how many times I play it.
DeJennsitized Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I don't actually know what song I heard first. But Holiday was the one that changed my life for sure. I just thought it was the most amazing song I'd ever heard and had it on repeat for about a month. BOBD was also one of the first songs I heard. And, dunno if this even counts, but the first time I heard Good Riddance, it was my choir teacher teaching it to us about five years ago I hadn't heard any other song by Green Day (about from the two I mentioned), but by the time we had to sing it at the Spring Concert in March 2006, I'd become obsessed!
Hanna__ Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 I guess it was American idiot, but I'm sure that I've heard When I come Around before.. I just didn't reconize it yet
anya. Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 ahm, let me think. i think it was Minority, long time ago when I was nine;)
musse Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I think it was BOBD... I'm not sure tho, might've been Longview or Minority too. Those were the first GD songs I heard, cos my friends liked them. I was 11 or 12 ^^
04rebhop Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I was about 11 or 12 and i first heard American Idiot
fashionvictim86 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I was 11 in 1994 and I saw the video for Longview on MTV and I was instantly hooked. And yes, at that time, MTV actually played music videos!
Diabolochick Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Technically, the first one I remember was when I was 11 years old, and it was just before American Idiot came out, and i heard my first song, Burnout, because my parents gave me Dookie =) thank you mom and dad for my obsession. But, I was at Woodstock 1994 during the Mud fight, lol, apparently i was dancing up on the handycap platform while they were playing, little 2 year old me , but yeah, i don't remember much from it
Vaso.Of.Suburbia Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 when i was 12 years old.... i just came back from myvillage and one of my friends gave me his mp3... boulevard of broken dreams was in there... that was.... i felt in love!
DavidRS Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 In 2006, when I was in 9th grade, I went to London with my class. On the last day I had some money to spare and we passed a CD store where American Idiot was on sale for £6. One of my friends had been telling me that he really liked Green Day so I bought it. When I came back to Denmark I listened to the entire album and I was hooked. So the first Green Day song I heard was American Idiot and it was 3½ years ago.
ConfirmPassword Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 My friend was Green Day fan, and she talked a lot about them. She showed me Boulevard of broken dreams, and loved it I thought they seemed really cool too, and then my father bought 21st Century Breakdown And well. Now Its not only her who talk about them Thank you MyLuckyStars <3
