JustSweet19 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 minority.. I was 10 years old. I was in a store and I listen the music, but I just Knew this awesome band in 2004, with American Idiot, then I discover that green day play "minority"
Comedy & Tragedy Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I was 8 going on 9 when I was watching TV and American Idiot came on. At first I though "Woah, they're pretty cool " Then people starting talking about them they were being mentioned everywhere, then as more songs came out I realized "Wow, these guys are officially my favourite band ever!"
Rock Tie Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 my friend told me about them ..... and the first song i heard is american idiot
BadgerLALA Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 It was the summer of 2005, they played BOBD like crazy on the radio.
Joy of suburbia. Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I remember when I was 11 [that was in 2001] and I saw Minority on VH1 and I was like, "Oh this video is cool and they're like, balloons...awesome!" and I was singing the song all over the place...but I didn't know that was Green Day, though. xD Then I saw the American Idiot video on MTV in 2005 [when they actaully played music videos] and then I Iooked up all their videos then I saw that Green Day was the band that sang Minority... I went fucking nuts. That's when my life changed forever.
insomniac_pt Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 When I Come around, back in 1994 in a portuguese radio station. It was love at first listen
Rave Kate Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 The song is Blvd of Broken dreams, And I first heard it in the year 2008, and I even remember the date that's 12 January , since then I've been in love with green day and I always Celebrate That Day!!
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 ^ Yeah, finally someone else who also remembers the exact date when they first heard Green Day! (and then I'm creepy enough to know it on the five minutes exactly, but yeahh.................)
SilentShout Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Sadly I don't remember exactly, but i think it was january-february 2005, I was watching TV randomly and the making of the Blvd. Of Broken Dreams video was on. I liked the song, but i didn't pay that much attention to them beacuse i had just started listening to Good Charlotte and liked them more But some weeks later i realized that Green Day was the right band
mandajane Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 basket case.....back in the day. i was like 9?? my best friend had a poster of the dookie cd cover on his bedroom door, i remember seeing it all the time forever ago.
girlcalledkillxx Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 i dont really remember not knowing who they were lmaoo my brothers would listen to them sometimes, but i was really young so i didnt really pay much attention, but im sure that when i first started really listening to them was like just before american idiot i was about 8 or 9 i think but im not sure i loved warning, minority, basket case and longview and then american idiot came out and i was a HUGE fan the first cd i got of them was international superhits x
the ChooK Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 i really have no fucking clue... O_O ...maybe around 2004 when american idiot was released... i dont know, coz i didnt like... like them until 2007-2008 or something.... and really like them around late 2008... 8P
PunkRocks and Coke Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Well the first song I heard was "Good Riddance" when i was little but I dont remember the first time i actually listened and payed attention to the lyrics.
GreenDay-Idiot Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 The first one I heard was warning or waiting I can't remember! I was 10 years old and it was on MTV.
Just Overjoyed Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I can't honestly tell you the first song. I was too young when Dookie came out (3) but I distinctly recall knowing the songs Brain Stew and Good Riddance before I became a fan at the tender age of 9 listening to a copy of Nimrod I got from my parents. The first meaningful Green Day song I heard was probably Nice Guys Finish Last I'd imagine.
Isabel Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I always knew about Green Day ever since 1994 because my brother used to listen to them alot growing up. But I didn't start intentionally listening to them until December 2001 when my cousin bought Dookie and Nimrod. Chump/Longview were the songs that made me completely obsessed with Green Day. I just vividly remember hearing the transition from one song into the other and thinking "Wow, I've never heard anything like this before!" Weird, Chump just started playing on my itunes player.
Ellie_punx Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 i don't actually remember when i first listened Green day....it was before the American Idiot.....and i think that my first song was basket case...but because i was young i didn't search about the performer....after some time i has watched them on tv...i knew their names but i didn't know their songs.when i heard blvd i stucked and then i started being fanatic with green day!!!!!!!
.katie. Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I think it was BOBD on the radio when I was about 10, but I didn't even know who Green Day were then.
ludwiig Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I have no idea. But i guess it was either Warning (cause that was my first GD album) or some of the Dookie hits, like Basket case.
E!!i Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 It was Boulevard of Broken Dreams and I heard it on the radio in June 2005 and I found it so awesome that I started watching it on TV (before I had always switched the channels when it came on ) And when I saw the video I thought "Man, the frontman looks awesome" :eyebrow:
