The first song I really remember listening to was Wake Me Up When September Ends on the radio when I was in elementary school, but I didn't become a fan until sometime around 2007.

I heard American Idiot on the radio sometime in early 2005, and i liked it a lot. However it wasn't until my friend brought over Dookie a few weeks later that i really fell in love :D

Basket Case, I was still in the primary grades when I saw (and heard) the first minute of the music video. because I was so young, i didn't look into it. After Basket Case was American Idiot, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, or Holiday. I can't remember which was first 'cause at that time I didn't watch TV, listen to the radio, or go on the internet. 21 Guns made me watch Green Day at the vma's and the performance of East Jesus Nowhere made me look them up. Good Riddance and Wake Me Up When September Ends fit in there somewhere...

I am pretty sure the first time i heard green day was around 1997 and the first song was good riddance, i must admit green day introduced me to a new genre of music, but to be honest I wouldnt have called myself a fan, not until American Idiot came out. Between 1997 and 2004 I have listen to them on the radio and watched their video on TV and i liked their songs. But when AI came out i just listened to this album non stop for a long time. But even then i never really invested time to look at their old stuff other than what i already knew. It wasnt till a couple of years ago that I became obsessed (for lack of a better word)

Boulevard Of Broken Dreams.I was in the english camp. And I was kinda shocked...thou I had no idea that was a beginning of biiiig love

It was Wake Me Up When September Ends, long time ago, something about May 2005? I think so...

I was 13 than, and I thought 'OMG, what a beautiful sad song, blah blah blah', but seriously, thank God I heard it and started to listento GD. Otherwise today I would be Sugarbabes fan or some other crap.

It was about June 22, 2005 and I listened to Boulevard of Broken Dreams on the radio.

Mine was when Fuse showed the making the video of American Idiot and I just thought they were hilarious, so I listen to more of their stuff. I had always heard of Green Day, but I was never the obsessed fan that I am now :D

The first time I proper remember listening to them was when I was like ten or something and American Idiot was on the tv but once I started listening to them more I recognised other songs like Good Riddance.

I probably heard them before but I can't remember it!

It was 2000 Light Years Away.

It was on my friends cassette.

I copied the whole cassette instantly.

Year was.. can't tell, beginning of the nineties. Must've been before -95, because I was still living in Vaasa.

I still have that c-cassette lying around somewhere I think :)

I have bought the cd anyway...

Mine was WMUWSE on tv. It was in the summer of 05 and I was on holiday in Turkey. I immediately fell in love with the song and the first thing I did when I came back from vacation was listen to the whole AI album.. and I've been a GD fan for 5 years now

my mom got me into Green Day. she would always play their music when i was around 4 or 5 years old. but the song/video that i remember from Green Day was Basket Case. I remember it being to bright and colorful i fell in love with it and I always had the picture of Tre in the wheel chair and at the time i thought the lady in the counter gave him apple juice. lol i become more into them when i was 7 or 8 years old and just fell more and more in love with them. :)

I have to admit my first GD song was American Idiot back in 2004.

I was watching the '10+' & this song was aired. I haven't heard it before but it was at #1. I listen it & already in the middle of the song I was jumping over my bed & going CRAZY; it was like love at first sight  lol I haven't stop listening to them since then :B

Oh well,I remember it.:)

It was Brain Stew.

I was 10/11 and I sent Brain Stew to my friend. We heard it and we said :"Oh this is a hardcore music!"

But I didn't know it was by Green Day.

So officially first song by Green day in my mp3 was Basket Case :)

My older brother bought Kerpunk in 1994 (because he thought it was Dookie lol). Anyway, I've been a fan ever since.

I heard Longview when I was like... 7. My sister had Dookie back then. But I was far too young to become a 'fan' of music, but my sister tells me I want crazy when I heard Longview.

Then, many years later, I heard American Idiot on TV. And I remember to be STUNNED. I literally dropped everything I was doing the first time I heard it, just watching the TV and being surprised. It was the kind of music I'd need looking for for so long.
