Seedless_Reject Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 O.O hahaha lol! xD maybe that's why you really like them (?)yup, I guess it was how I was able to relate to the band through one song and then when I got more of their CDs I found out that I could relate to almost all of them.
Johannamunter Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I saw the video for BOBD and the rest is history
Lotte Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 It was in 2005 I think so I was around 13 years old xD ...Wake Me Up When September Ends
petros Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I was 13/14 when I first show Wake Me Up When September Ends video on TV...Then I bought American Idiot and stuck with Green Day...
Tubbie Head Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I don't know, because my parents already had the Dookie cd when I started being interested about them! (it wasn't that long ago)So I probably heard the whole album but didn't know it was GD, not that I wanted to know.. Gosh I was so stupid when I was youger, it's all because I grew up listening to my dad's rock music, and I just didn't care for music at all, just started to get into music in 2007... And, I remember watching Working Class Hero on mtv and it was awesome 'cause it made me start looking for Green Day on google, then found GDA.. and here I am
Dai. Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 There's already a thread for this. Thought I'd close the old one to keep things fresh around here.

Lauren Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I must've heard Green Day without realizing it. Of course I've heard Good Riddance. but when I listened to songs like When I Come Around and Basket Case, they sounded sooooo familiar... When I first started to listen Green Day "for real", It was like 2005. My friend sent me a bunch of songs. A few I remember were: Deadbeat Holiday, Misery, Letterbomb, Homecoming, Longview, and a bunch more.
AnnA™ Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I remember it so vividly. It was in 2004, I was listening to the radio in my room. Suddenly this song comes on, and it sounds so cool that I stop whatever it is I'm doing. I just turn up the volume and sit there, listening to Boulevard of Broken Dreams.I didn't know who Green Day were. I didn't even know the name of the song. I just know now that it was in that moment I became a Green Day fan.
greendaygal89 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 just before AI came out and i remember hearing minority on Kerrang and thought omg this band is amazing, then before i knew it AI was released and i feel in love lol
Just Kate Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 first as i remember was American Idiot 5th of May 2005, official was Holiday i don't remember when but when i first got to hear Warning i remember i thought to myself that i heard it before when i was young, so...who knows when the hell i heard them for the first time :/
Tashidge Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 It was 1997, I was 7 years old, in the car to my nan's house when Good Riddance came on.Then a few days later, My uncle had the Dookie album on, Longview for the win.
DecanoLP Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 It was in 2004 in a Music - lesson, lol. We had to sing a song in front of the class and my mate chose Boulevard Of Broken Dreams. I didn't know Green Day or a song but I fell in love with it.I bought more music and since then I'm a fan

ReturnTo86 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I was with my dad food shopping in tesco and ISH just got released and he bought it, he put it on in the car on the way home and i became obsessed with poprocks and coke. like proper obsessed with it, i didnt listen to any other songs then i saw them at reading in 2004 but only saw them in passing and didnt pay much attention (which i fucking regret), and about a couple weeks after tha i was sitting at home on a saturday afternoon, and i caught the end of AI on tV, ThATs wha did it for me, i rang my sister who was out and asked her to pick me up a copy, and i fell in love with it instantly. ALL of their albums were on sale in HMV the next week and i bought every single one of the fuckers.
Marki. Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I remember how my friend send me Brain Stew when we were in 5th grade (maybe 4th grade, I don't remember...) I didn't know who Green Day are and I thought that Brain Stew is a name of a singer because I read Brian Stew instead of Brain Stew :D We're still laughing like crazy when we talk about this But the first song that I heard from GD (when I finally knew who they are) was either Holiday or Are we the waiting, I don't know which one was first... I definitelly heard Time of your life and BOBD and WMUWSE and some other songs before that, but I didn't know anything about Green Day...
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 September 8th 2008, 19:55, Wake Me Up When September Ends. I was listening to the radio, probably making homework or something, and I fell in love with it like I never had with a song before, long story blabla, and now I'm here There's a fair chance that wasn't the first time I heard Green Day, at the time I listened to that radio show quite often and when I look at the playlists, I occasionally see a Green Day song, but that was the first time I noticed it.

AllIWannaDoIs... Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I had the movie Angus, which has J.A.R playing in it, but that was around 1997-1998 maybe. I guess I was too young to care. Then in 2005, I listened to Holiday on someone's mp3 in French class and loved it.
Miss Hedgie Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I vaguely remember being asked to listen to Basket Case. But I definately remember watching and listening to American Idiot and being omg this is it love! Beautiful music.
