Nikki_Nimrod Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 ohh, I remember this!I still can't decide whether i think it's really him or not On one hand, it does sound similar....and i bet he probably sounds different when woken up in the middle of the night. But it's still pretty different :/ah well, the world may never know. Either way, it's certainly interesting.
Luci_Minority Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I don't know if is really him but is nice poor Billie
AnnA™ Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I don't find it funny either. Whether it's for real or not, I just think it's lame.
darenmay Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 it doesn;t sound like billie but it's really funny.
Li Sa Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I don't find it funny and don't think it's Billie
sharika Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 thats hilarious! i love it even if it's fake..though it's quite realistic! that's soo clever WAKE UP septemeber's over!
Sarahnade. Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Well an easy way to tell where this call was going would be to listen to the touch tones and see what numbers those tones correspond with, reconstructing the phone number. How to do that? You could either do it by ear, if you trust your sense of hearing, or you can analyze the frequency spectrum of the tones and see which numbers they correspond to.Touch tones are composed of two overlapping frequencies. The frequencies that correspond to the number can be found by looking at the bottom row and far right column and matching them up with the number or * or #. (A,B,C,D are for military use only)http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/9975/tones.jpgSo I ripped the audio, popped it into my audio program, selected the portion of the audio that plays a tone.http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/8353/portion.jpgThen ran a frequency spectrum analysys. What I was looking for were two narrow peaks which would correspond to the tone. For the first number, this is what I got:http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/8589/peaks.jpgThese were at 947Hz and 1330Hz which are close to the values of 941Hz and 1336Hz on the table and correspond to a 0The rest of the numbers turned out as follows:another 0, 1, 5, 0, 8, 4, 9, 6, 6, 0, 9, 6, so the number is: 001-508-496-6096 (I double checked)001 is the calling code from the UK to the US so that checks out, but 508 is an area code in Massachusetts. Further, the whole number, 508-496-6096 when googled leads to a number of results for someone named 'Hal Rood'. Now if you do a google of 'Hal Rood' you get this page: http://www.strategicradiosolutions.com/hr.htmlAnd what does it say on his bio?"Over the past 14 years, Hal has worked with some of the world’s most successful radio brands, including 104.6 RTL/Berlin, DC-101/Washington, Europa Plus and Retro FM/Russia, Virgin Radio and RFM/France, Sky Radio / Holland, Key 103/Manchester, 98FM/Dublin, Globo Radio / Brasil, and Europa FM and Radio 21/Romania."Bingo, someone in radio. Now unless Hal acquired Billie Joe's cellphone number sometime after 2005, or if Billie Joe happened to be using Hal's cell phone that night, then I think it's safe to say that this is fake. There is one other possibility though, which might be a bit of a stretch--- The DJs may have been working with Hal and Hal had his cell phone calls automatically forward to Billie Joe's... but that seems way too convoluted. So there you go. Fake.Wow. Kudos to you for doing all of that! I think it's safe to call it fake now.
ANJI Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 This cracked me up haha...even thought its fake
karma1215 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 That's the funniest stuff ever. Thanks for sharing. I am putting this on my Ipod.

Robin105 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 What also makes me think this is fake, This is from a radio station in Liverpool England. How would they get Billie's home phone number?
MascaraTears Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 @check, wow good detective work! I have to admit I did laugh though... if you just picture it's actually Billie, yeah I would feel a little bad for him but it's still funny.
BadgerLALA Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 hahahah it made me laugh. But I still don't think it's Billie
