Princess Consuela Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I love this song, too. It gives me such a nostalgic feeling. Glad to know someone watched all 3 vids!Nostalgic feeling is a perfect description of what listening to this song causes. It's very comforting to know someone's been exactly where you are right now in your life. It gives that feeling you're listening to your best friend who understand you like no one else. It's not just about just Christie Road, I think I can say that about many other GD songs. This one, though, is a very special one And I watched all 3 videos as well I loved how they were all played by the same band, yet are completely different to each other. Fuse show is one of my favourites, not to mention the classic Chicago '94
Splotnik3 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 awesome song. this song along with Scattered and Letterbomb made me so glad i saw Green day at Wembley rather than the O2 like i was supposed to.
Little Girl Little One Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 This song is currently the most played on my iPod right now. That may have something to do with my playing Green Day songs the most, and it being on my relax playlist and me napping a lot lol.
sampy Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 About two weeks ago I watched live clips of this song from youtube, it's such an awesome song ! Love it
Hermione Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 "Take me to the tracks at Christie Road!" - the most enjoyable line ever! When I bought Kerplunk and was listening to it for the first time on the bus because I couldn't wait until I was home, that line took me right by surprise and I must have looked like this sitting there: :D . I can't remember ever being so delighted by a song from the first listen. It's a beautiful song. Those videos are great. I love watching the Fuse one because it's so special to see them doing those old songs now they're older. Especially a song like Christie Road that's already so nostalgic, it's just great to see them singing it all these years later
Lauren Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I sing this song to my baby niece when she's fussy. I walk around the room rocking her. She looks up at me with the cutest look on her face. Moments like that are the most wonderful moments ever.It always calms her down and she falls asleep.
Guest Shangri-La Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 i completely smacked christie c road in the face last night while opening a bathroom door. true story.
persons Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 this was my fav off Kerpunk! for a while, i still love it though .
Salmonator. Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 I love this song, I was fortunate enough to hear it live at the concert.<3
GoodRiddanceGE Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Christie Road is a beautiful song! I listened to it first when I was about 14 and still went on holiday with my parents and my younger brother. I was totally bored and while sitting in the back seat of my parents car I listened to Kerplunk. It seemed to fit with my mood perfectly. Far away from home, without my friends and desperately trying to kill some time. That´s what Christie Road is about for me.By the way: What/Where is Christie Road? Does it really exist and what´s the special meaning behind it? Would be very nice if you could help me out with that!
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 ^ It does really exist, and it's a place and with train tracks, and maybe it's a station or something? but I'm not sure about that, right now I'm just recalling things I've heard being said about it so I'm probably very much wrong. I think Jerry once said that it was mainly mud and more mud. I'm not stalker kay, just happen to remember that. *awkward laugh*I think I have a picture of it, let me search it.edit: The special meaning ... I think it mainly has a special meaning to Billie/and other people who (used to) go there. The song is about the meaning. I'm sorry if this post doesn't make sense/has false information, my head is kind of a mess

Bastard of 1967 Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 I always thought it didn't exist... It's a real place, I *think* in Martinez, CA -- about a half-hour or so's drive NE of Oakland. Go to Google Maps and enter the following into the search box:37.999545,-122.203116If you pull up a satellite view you'll see the railroad tracks that I think Billie's singing about.
Elissa. Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 This song is amazing It's my favorite off of Kerplunk!

I'm sorry if this post doesn't make sense/has false information, my head is kind of a mess Christie road is the place Billie and Ex-Girlfriend Erica Paleno used to sneak off together too. I read it in nobody likes you, here is a quote from Erica, talking about Billie Joe."I would steal his notebooks, and lyric books. I still have them, but they're tucked away. There's the original version to Christie Road, which he wrote for me and my mom. Its about meeting him at the train tracks and sneaking out of the house because my mom didn't let me. I was always grounded."Just thought i would share that tid-bit of information this is the page of the book, http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-sn...3_3540294_n.jpg
Tubbie Head Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Oh my, this is one of my favorite songs <3I really wanted to hear it live, like the acoustic version of itI had a sign requesting it, but I just couldn't show it at the show.. I was so pissed when I saw that Billie played it the show after mine! lolOh well, I'll have my time, I hopeChristie road is the place Billie and Ex-Girlfriend Erica Paleno used to sneak off together too. Sanity Loan Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I think Hearts Collide should have been the Song of the Week this time because of Valentine's Day
Supermodel*Robot Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 This song was one of my favourites for the longest time, but I haven't been that into it lately. I think it's because I'm not up for slower music right now. Either way, I love the lines "or my brains will explode."
Savior of Rebellion Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 J'net I totally get what you mean ( and yes I watched all three of the videos!! ) beautiful song choice, I can totally relate to it..also, I was laughing soo hard at the beggining of the third video
Mar Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Since people were asking again...As was pointed out by someone else in here, there's a Christie AVENUE that runs along the train tracks by the Emeryville train station (which isn't far from Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe). I'll be going right along them when I go out there this summer, I'm excited [/geek]
