bjrules Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Yay, 2 weeks in a row that a song I've voted for has been chosen! Well, I really love this song, its not just one of Kerplunk's best but one of Green Day's best. I would die if I heard this in concert, and that Fuse Performance brings back memories, because I first heard this song from that video on Youtube, and after that i decided that I needed Kerplunk right that second
04rebhop Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Got to be one of my ultimate favoruite songs. When they played this on the second night of the Birmingham gigs it just made my life complete. I had been dreaming of them playing Christie Road, but never in a million years expected it.
Nova-Caine Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 The song that has got me through so many years of being ill and hospitalisation, the song that told me that not matter how lonely I felt I wasn't alone, the song I got played by holding up a piece of paper with a simple request during Rocktober with a smile and a nod from Billie <3
Radioactive1 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 This reminds me of seeing them in Birmingham. When my mate and another girl in the queue got annoyed at people just singing songs from American Idiot and broke out into this song
ANJI Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Christie Road is such an awesome song and one of my favourites off Kerplunk! I feel lucky that I got to here it live and it was amazing!

†...HAUSHINKA...† Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I'm totally in love with this song! It expresses to me a sense of loneliness and tenderness at the same time...it expresses to me pain for a future that is unknow...I've always loved ths song but it particularly stuck in me last year 'cause I link to this song my past year when I left school to join university and me and all my freinds took different roads from each other...it was sad in a first time...so every good moments disappear in front of this unknown future but after you can realize that there's always someone or somewhere that can give you sense of home...
HoneyDo666 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Love this song! So glad this gem was chosen, it makes me feel wistfully nostalgic. I just think of my high school friends when I hear it.
drumstick Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I adore this song!It got pretty often stuck in my head... I can totally relate to this song and it always reminds me of driving in train to first Green Day concert...I was listening to it all the time. I'd so love to hear it live, maybe acoustic
cherylr Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 mine too.that song just makes me think aboutmy life in general.I heard it live in D.C. and Billieplayed it acoustically...I freaking melted. I was at that DC concert, too. It was beautiful.
†...HAUSHINKA...† Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I heard it live in D.C. and Billieplayed it acoustically...really?? wooow! I'd love to hear it live!! *O*
Ila Reto Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 i love how this song is about feeling safe and "home" when you're hanging around some station smoking weed. but i feel so incredebly euphoric lying in my bed, watching the sunset and listening to this song. it's like, "who needs pot, when i can feel this way any time i want with my music?"its a feeling i never want to lose <3anyway, then in the other hand, this song reminds me of steve because it's basically him. to "feel like....once again" the only way he can relax and kill time is to smoke weed. and i guess the song helps me understand that even if i dont want to, because i just want him to feel like me....very opposite sides of this song for me, as you can tell lol
Princess Consuela Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 So many feelings about that song that I don't know where to start. Weirdly enough, the more some song means to me, the more difficult I find to talk about it.There're Green Day songs that I can relate to more or less, to its general meaning, but with this one, every single line is like a description of my life. I've always loved it, but I could really understand what it's about when I left home for the university and started living on my own. Sometimes the sense of loneliness and routine makes you want to get away, to some dear place that is like home, where you can feel like you once again, otherwise you'll go crazy. I think every young person at some point in their lives wants parents or teachers to stay out of their way, so they can feel they're independent. I was exactly like that when I started uni. I wanted to get away, finally live on my own without parents on my way. Though, I quickly started to appreciate what I've been running from.Every time I sit at my desk looking through the window at the street and cars rolling by, bored and tired, I immediately have the first verse on my mind. It's like Billie was in my room and wrote exactly what he'd seen I would divide it into two parts, first one that you can relate to literally, and the second more metaphorical one.I don't know if what I wrote makes any sense and it's probably too chaotic, but it more or less reflects how I feel about this song.
Kaddi. Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I really really love Christie Road, it's a great song. I wish they'd play it live more often.
Marki. Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 If there's one thing that I need, that makes me feel complete...Christie road This song means SO MUCH to me. I can't really find the right words to explain it (you know, when I love you's not enough I'm lost for words... ) This song just makes me feel so good everytime I hear it... I don't know if this makes sense, but It doesn't make me feel happy everytime - it's more one of those songs that gives me hope when everything in my life seems to be wrong... It gives me that special feeling inside - something between sadness and happiness... I think hope is really the best way to describe it I'd LOVE to hear this song live, I'd probably cry like a little child
fev5 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I love this song - it's one of my favourites definatley. I was so pleased that when i saw them live Billie did the first verse and chorus in the acoustic encore. I remember singing along and realising knowone else around me was joining in but i was so excited to hear this song live!
