Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 ^ Yes, what you mentioned there is something that bugs me to no end, that it's always mentioned when someone's bi or gay, and never if they're straight. It's like you're different from the rest of the people if you're not straight or anything, and apparently that's important enough to mention and almost like it should be mentioned. Really annoying.

Really annoying.and here's another thing i just thought of. in a film they go on about it no end when a straight has to play a gay man and shock horror has to kiss another actual man, but they never comment on a gay man having to play a straight man and having kiss a woman. it will be just as an ordeal.
Hermione Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 ^^To be fair, though, that hasn't happened at all with Billie Joe. It's only ever really been mentioned in that article, and that's only because the main subject of the interview/article was sexuality. It never gets mentioned.I think the point is, unfortunately there's a lot of prejudice out there. So when someone is open and honest about their sexuality like that, it's admirable.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Nah, I was just talking about it in general, didn't have anything to do with Billie Joe anymore.Got sort of offtopic.
Hermione Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 ^I know what you mean though. It's quite surprising that it never gets mentioned about him really, the media will usually jump on anything like that and try to sensationalize it.
The Disappearing Boy Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 When he did that interview in 1995, he was already married and his wife was pregnant! I think if he's said he's bi then, he's bi. I'd be interested to hear his answer now as well though, just because it would be interesting to hear if the way he looks at his sexuality, or sexuality in general, is the same.thats my point. his views may have changed. i dunno. don't really matter either!
Moxy Crimefighter Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I'm agree with you in some way, we dont know anything about his sexual life, just what he let us know, that is pritty much nothing haha. Well in one concert I saw a video that he said he had anal sex with a guy from a band and he even made him a tattoo XD (that is the only thing that is a fact, because in other video the guy actually admitted billie did it), I dont remember his name right now. Even is that is true or not, he just like to mess up with our minds XD, but I think he is pritty hardcore, maybe could be true or I like to think that ahaha. But what really called my attention was the user who met Billie, so funny. Did he wrote his experience? I would like to read that.-_-He was joking you twit. He and that guy from the Kaiser cheif's did tattoo each other, he was joking about the crazy butt sex.
Tubbie Head Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 -_-He was joking you twit. He and that guy from the Kaiser cheif's did tattoo each other, he was joking about the crazy butt sex.You never know...lolBut yeah, He was totally joking around when he said that, he says that all the time
Maddy. Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 At least they can joke about it. Unlike lots of other prudish celebs. xD
Guest Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I was so happy when I first found out that Billie was bi And I think his theory is right in most peoples case
Eeefaa. Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I think the point is, unfortunately there's a lot of prejudice out there. So when someone is open and honest about their sexuality like that, it's admirable.this
jessicARGH! Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 i admire his views and honesty about his sexuality. You can still see references to him being bi which i think is good, even though he has a wife and kids. Haha i just remembered footage from a concert when he kissed guys that he pulled up on stage and they got all pissy.
SexyBIbiatch Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 -_-He was joking you twit. He and that guy from the Kaiser cheif's did tattoo each other, he was joking about the crazy butt sex.Hahahah of course he was joiking, but as i mentioned, i like to think that could be true..is more than obvious that he was joking. But who knows! hahaha like someone saidSometimes I like to joke about things, but they are true sometimes, it's just to tease people

idiot4u Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 some great comments....i just think it that original comment was amazingly brave and honest--he didn't have to say it--he was already married and dad to be. but he was asked and he gave a really honest and intuitive answer--didn't worry about what somebody might think about it. that's my favorite thing about billie--i think he's just honest and real. i wish more people could be less fearful about living their lives as they really are--without a big charade for whatever reason. im just as guilty of holding back sometimes on something i feel because of fear--wish i wasnt.
Princess Consuela Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I don't really think there's much to talk about in this case. He said something I completely agree with, about people being born bisexual and the role of society in making them think it's something not natural. The fact that he has wife and kids doesn't mean he can't be bi. He's just committed to one person like any other homo, bi or heterosexual can be.
Moxy Crimefighter Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Hahahah of course he was joiking, but as i mentioned, i like to think that could be true..is more than obvious that he was joking. Tripe Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 But what really called my attention was the user who met Billie, so funny. Did he wrote his experience? I would like to read that.He did write of his experience here on GDC. It was in a thread that was running at that time last year about the Meet & Greets the band was doing in the early part of the tour in 2009. It might have been at the one at the Hot Topic in Hollywood. Not sure now. Try searching the forum - you may find it there.
MusicalDeviant Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 You know it's all fodder for other people's fantasies, regardless of how real it is.I've read enough green day fan fiction to know that's true.Same here. I read his interviews and I'm like "He's so damn right!" I think exactly the same... like everyone's born bisexual. Thanks for sharing btw, because I've never seen the whole quote, but always only the first part. You're welcome.
Bohemian+Scandal Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I've read enough green day fan fiction to know that's true.Speaking of which. That quote that I always see on the internet. The one where Billie is supposedly referring to the fanfiction and how "Tre likes the dirty ones" or whatever. Does anyone know where that originally came from?
Prisca Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 ^ I know what quote you're talking about but I can't remember where it's from . . .

He's just committed to one person like any other homo, bi or heterosexual can be.I totally agree, just because he's in a longterm realtionship with a woman doesn't mean he's completely straight, just as if he was in a longterm relationship with a man it wouldn't make him gay.

The one where Billie is supposedly referring to the fanfiction and how "Tre likes the dirty ones" or whatever. Does anyone know where that originally came from?I've seen that loads too but when I looked into it I found out the quote is fake. Some girl with a fake Adrienne Armstrong myspace page did an "interview", with her pretending to be Adrienne. When someone asked a question about fanfiction she pretended Billie came on the computer to answer it, with that quote. Totally made up!
