I'm sure if Green Day had a real problem with Warner, they'd know about it. Since when has Green Day stuck with something they've not liked or if they've had a problem with something when have they not done anything about it?

They would leave if they had a real problem with it.

Not if they were being paid a lot of money. and i know they aren't in it for the money, im not saying they are, but at the end of the day they are just human, and most people will stay in a job even if they are slightly unhappy with their boss, so long as they are being paid enough.

^^Hey, I still buy records. >:(

I still need to catch up with the whole downloading frenzy.

I'm happy that it's not all hyped up like American Idiot was. I know it was pretty epic, them having all that success etc. But now it just seems more ~intimate. Just the band and the fans. Idk.

I agree with this.

to be honest im quite happy they arent in every tv show and magazin and all that shit like they

used to be during the AI era. its cool, so we dont have to 'share' them with 'none green day fans' :P

sooo i guess they probably get busy soon, with the musical and im sure theyll release another single.

i agree bout all indie lable stuff sayings, they should totally change their label, warner sucks.

^ that's a good theory :/

Don't know if it counts but yesterday I dreamt about GD and I was I asking Billie if there would be a south american leg of the tour and he blinked to me, not like this  but more like "hey, that's for sure"

I'm in love with your subconscience  I dreamt that I was pulled on stage last night, but the only thing that I remember is being there and a bright light and Billie next to me...

And then I was awake xD

I agree :D I download music but if it's a band that I really love, like Green Day I prefer to buy the album. I think as a fan I have to do it. also, I feel more proud and happy when I have Green Day album.

American Idiot was more hyped cause it was all new. they changed. they grow up and everyone, including were shocked for good and bad and also, many new people started to love them, like me. but 21 CB is like continuity to AI, not that it's bad. is just not so new for the media.

well, fans buy records. Non-fans download shit. Fans = See GDA = Don't need Warner to promote = Warner goes back to their money beds.

I actually miss watching them on tv. I didn't watch them during the AI era, because then I wasn't a fan, I was just getting to know them :/

They should join Adeline or something like that, but then will come the problem with the royalties, and what are they gonna do with the old cd's, and etc., etc., etc. :/

I have definitely noticed that as much as this album has a lot more going on for it than American Idiot did, creatively, musically, everything, it hasn't been nearly as big. I saw a lot of stuff on TV before the album came out that played KYE (and I noticed because I was trying not to listen to it), but after the album came out, that all died way down - even though the album sold so much in the first few weeks following its release.

Still, I'm not going to give up the game, yet. And at any rate the band seems to know how to get things out there regardless of Warner.

And I would definitely love seeing them on t.v. more and stuff. It seems that that is definitely lacking... and, in my opinion, music television is that much worse off for it. But that's just me.

I agree with some things. 21stCB could have been promoted much more properly and perhaps even picked 'better' singles. But it's still early for us to assume that there won't be much more touring going on. For all we know, they're still planning it out. Perhaps there will even be secret shows. 8D

Secret shows have, as of yet, completely eluded Michigan (and most other places in the country/world that are generally hit by regular touring).

Living in the UK I feel the coverage of music on the MTV/VHI channels is appalling. It's the same pappy sappy RnB crap and x factor rubbish with every girl band that ever got their arse out being shown on a loop. I never channel hop and find rock music playing. Maybe Warner are finding it difficult promoting GD because of the rubbish most people are listening to, but I sometimes feel people are buying the crap BECAUSE it's constantly on tv. It's catch 22. If 21CB was played as much as the fuckin Pussycat Dolls it would be huge. Maybe rock music fans should start demanding more real music exposure.

I always felt that EJN would be the single that grabs the attention of the non Green Day fans to the album. I also hoped the plan was to release it as a single this year so that the album may qualify for more awards in next year's Grammys etc and keep the band in the spotlight a bit longer.

This is true, and is kind of hurts knowing this, haha.

Why do you guys care if there are no more singles? I certainly don't want to hear their songs being overplayed to death.

The album wasn't that bad promoted in Germany! I've seen the commercial a few times and on radio, newspapers, etc it was also mentioned!!

It was also on #1 in the charts, American Idiot was only on #3!!

I think the problem was that Know Your Enemy isn't a good single! When I first heard it, I thought that it is like the weakest song on the album! Now, 7 months later I fucking love KNY!! I don't know, but it's like I now understand the song:)

21 Guns was really huge, it's still on radio! But I never heard 21st Century Breakdown on radio or TV!!

I hope they will win a Grammy and the album solds will increase!! :D

Maybe Warner will recognize that Green Day is the best band on the planet!

i have never understood when people complain about green day being on the radio/telly too much. if you don't like hearing themm on the radio, turn it off when they come on!!!

This!

I "overplay" all their songs myself anyway so hearing them a few more times on the radio or tv makes no difference to me. Except it's a nice little treat every time I hear/see them on there. Surely hearing your favourite band on the radio is better than hearing anything else!

totally agree. even though i've heard all their songs a million times and can listen to them whenever i feel like it, it always makes me a little excited when i hear a green day song on the radio.

Same. I love hearing my favorite artists on the radio. Though, I get sick of it ALWAYS being the same song. Whenever I go to this one restaurant here, they play 21 Guns. I'm not exaggerating either. But as far as interviews and hearing them in general, it makes me happy. At least their music is worth listening to on the radio, unlike 90% of what gets played.

Well, I personally have a little fangirl attack in my brain every time I hear Green Day on the radio or on t.v. I don't care what it is for. I am hearing it when I am not the one who put it there. Also, think of it this way: the more singles, the more variety available to be played, the more possibility for a different song to be played this time than last, no?

Yeah, I sort of agree. I mean I wasn't aware of all the AI hype at the time (how I missed it, only to discover them as they fell out of the media still confuses me). I think it would be a little annoying to have all these people talking about & going crazy about them, which would get me super stoked, just to see them all go away within a few months. I dunno. It is odd that this album is hardly marketed, but I don't really mind either than the fact that I like to watch the videos.

i just realized that warner sucks.

I agree with this, it's always nice to hear them on the radio, whether it's a new song or and old one :)

you are not the only one. They need a break for sure, but after this they have to do two more singles and some concerts. They have to go to places that they have not gone yet.I tottaly agree with you.

I don't feel like you're paranoid.

KYE was major hype building FLOP, then they make EJN a single (YAY) but don't produce a music video (D'OH). Instead a video is made for great but crap in comparison song 21CB.

Now Warner has a choice of Viva La Gloria, Before The Lobotomy or Murder City as the next single (all fantastic songs with 70+ play count for me), and instead they choose a mediocre 37 play count song. It's one of the worst on the album since the rest are so bloody amazing, and it feels like they're not helping 21cbs unpopularity at all :/

*rant somewhat over*

EDIT: Okay, mediocre is harsh. I'm sorry LOTAG, I love you. You're somewhat catchy and I even heard you being played in HMV one time.

But watch how the next single is Christian's Inferno. WATCH.

it would be a biiiiig mistkake if Christian's Inferno will be their next single.

and i have to agree that KYE was a (flop) :/

Warner is failing to do anything properly.

I wish . I can't see it though.

Anyway, I'm happy with this choice . It's annoying that they seem to have abandoned and wasted East Jesus Nowhere and 21st CB, but putting that aside I like Last Of The American Girls as a single choice. It's unexpected and interesting. And it's not often you get a male songwriter who writes with such understanding of the female point of view and creates such strong, complex female characters! I love the lyrics of this song and it'll be refreshing to hear it on the radio amongst so much crap.
