Does Green Day even need Warner that much?

One of the users on here (GDkid2010, I think) got word from his local radio station that green day would not be putting a new single out. apparently, this station have been reliable in the past regarding predicting singles releases. so no, nothing official on that one, but it just got me a bit riled.

I'noticed the same things you've noticed but I don't think it depends on the will of warner....

we can't know what happen among them and we can't know their choises what depend on...

It would disappoint me if there won't be another single, but it won't be the end of the world. It probably wouldn't have been big anyway, the song that would have probably done best didn't (21 Guns) didn't do super well or anything, so yeah.

And I agree that Warner has majorly fucked up on the promotion.

On the one side, I don't really care, because well, we still get to enjoy the music and amazing concerts, they still get awards and perform on award shows, so we don't really have anything to complain about on that part. They already had the big stardom thing with American Idiot, it's probably also nice to be not in the middle of the spots anymore. On the other side, though, they deserve to be big and their songs to do well. And even though some people get annoyed by it, new people deserve to hear from Green Day, kinda like a share the love thing. Or at least let people know that they're "back" (although I think that's not really a problem, I keep hearing people knowing 21 Guns in totally random, unexpected places).

I was wondering about the singles :/ THEY NEED TO PUT BEFORE THE LOBOTOMY AS A SINGLE! Or East Jesus Nowhere as a REAL single, with a real video and all ¬¬

and the tours... i think they can announce like a month and a half before. I'm starting to worry though. They're supose to come to southamerica after Asia, and they haven't announced anything :/ anyways, last year I remember that NOTHING happened on january and then, on february, we were surrounded by news i have the hope that they'll announce something during the grammys

I don't really get why some people are complaining, I mean 21st CB (the album) was No. 1 in 14 countries I think and yeah, they could've done better, their singles for sure. But who cares that much about the charts? 99% of the concerts were sold out, they still kick-ass when it comes to concerts anyway.

Maybe AI got more awards and I think it's always nice when they get one, but I won't shoot myself if they won't and I think the band doesn't care that much about it themselves.

They play Wembley (the biggest stadium in the world!) in summer! That's proof enough for their success! For me, anyway!

I agree that people complain when Green Day are everywhere like in the AI era but still complain when Green Day are not everywhere in the media like in the current era. I'm glad they aren't. It's about the music and not about Green Day being in every magazine or television show. True that Warner failed at the promotion but it's not like they didn't sell a single album. They were still number 1 in a lot of countries and I think all that matters to them anyway is that people come to their shows. And they certainly do.

I seriously just like singles for the videos, nothing else. But tbh I rather watch a great Going to Pasalacqua performence from a concert than a quite boring video like KYE was.

I agree with some things. 21stCB could have been promoted much more properly and perhaps even picked 'better' singles. But it's still early for us to assume that there won't be much more touring going on. For all we know, they're still planning it out. Perhaps there will even be secret shows. 8D
