GDM Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Tony mentioned on Facebook that at the first show in Tokyo, Billie said that the proceeds of the show were going to a relief organization. Don't think Tony mentioned which organization, though, or if Billie said which one during the show.
HoneyDo666 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Oh boys, this just makes me love you more! You're beautiful inside and out!
Sharmellow Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 They gained +232435234 respect points for doing this.
Sarahnade. Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 That's an exceptionally generous amount to give. Really amazing of them. It's going to help a lot of people.
Miqui_Dee Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Aaaand THAT'S why I love Green Day as people and not just for their music. I applaud their awesomeness.
Mrs.Kerplunk Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 I knew they would So so awesome of them. That's one more reason why I love them. They actually care for other people..
MascaraTears Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 I'm proud of them I won't go into how every single other celebrity in the world SHOULD do something like this...
Guest Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 If everyone with a lot of money did what Green Day did the world would be a much better place I found out yestarday, it made my day
Agija Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 That's so nice of them. I was really happy when I heard that.
Ingrid Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 I was also very happy to hear about this It made me decide to double the amount of money that I'd already donated to Haiti myself, which I guess is the reason why they made this public in the first place.Always happy to let Green Day inspire me to do some good in this world
Fuzz Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I had been waiting to see if they'd donate - I'm really happy to see they did. I came in to work today and one of my coworkers (who doesn't like Green Day) asked if they had done anything to help - i told him about this money and he replied with "Thats it?". So i asked him how much he had donated (nothing) and that conversation was over.I think $100,000 was a generous contribution that I'm sure will go to help thousands of people.
