Ingrid Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 The American Idiot test pressing went for US $2,650
J'net Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 did any one on here win any thing from the auctionI did!!!I decided how much money I could afford to donate and then watched as the items were getting near closing. I got outbid on several things, but as we got closer to the end, I was willing to bid higher because I still had all my money left (and because two of the things I wanted most were near the end of the list). So, I won the Minority test pressing and the Warfield poster . Paid way overinflated prices, but in a charity auction, I consider it making a donation. If I get something for it, that's just extra nice. Since I was willing to give that much money to charity with nothing in return, I feel as if I've won the lottery!AND - I didn't quite spend all the money I had put aside. So, I still have a bit more to donate to Haiti relief efforts.AND - my company is going to match my donations, so the Red Cross will get double the amounts I paid. It's an all-around feel good outcome for me.And I guess it's time to unpin this now since the event is over. I'm so pleased and proud of what Adeline did with this auction. Pleased and proud - but not surprised.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 The American Idiot test pressing went for US $2,650 Holy shit!^ That's awesome, J'net
Hanamay Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I had watched the items for a long time but unfortunately they were too high for me to afford, but I did add bids anyway so they went up (not expecting to win though). I didn't do that because I wanted people to pay more for them but so more money was raised! Well done to everyone who bid and especially to those who won.

I WAS SALIVATING OVER THAT ONE!Hehe, congrats, that poster is well worth it, it's a beauty.

I WAS SALIVATING OVER THAT ONE!Hehe, congrats, that poster is well worth it, it's a beauty.I agree, Tanya, thanks! And it will look beautiful with the poster Diane sent me (a limited edition poster made for the 8/25 LA Forum show where Billie pulled me up on stage and Tre gave me the drum head - GOD I LOVE THAT WOMAN!!!). And Minority is my special song, so I was very happy to get that test pressing, too. I bid on the FBHT one, but decided it was getting too high for me (it was earlier in the auction). And I would have loved to have the AI test pressing, but didn't even try for that - it go SO high SO fast!I haven't tried to figure out how much money they raised, but it must have been a lovely chunk .
J'net Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Apparently this auction raised $13,000! That makes me feel good .
