thats what annoys me a bit about billie joe. it was a once in a lifetime moment for this girl, all she wanted to do was to take a picture to remember it by, and he swore at her and told her to get off the stage. id be a bit annoyed if i were her.

It's only because of him that this once in a lifetime moment was even created. He's just trying to show people that you can create memories and enjoy moments a hell of a lot more if you aren't taking photos and twittering and shit all the time. I'm assuming you listen to (and most likely like) the song Static Age. He's sending her exactly the same message.

and lets not forget the girl who had her own make out session with billie at MSG2 idk if thats a dumbass fan but it was funny to me ha ha

That's either a dumbass fan or just a really brave one that needs to be applauded. I think both.

Good: Doing what she wanted to do.

Bad: Kissing a married guy in a "I'm not joking" way. No, no, no, no.

If he was serious he wouldn't of taken the picture with her in the first place, lol. he was just messing around.

Yeah, seriously.

People are debating over this?

Edit: Anyway, that girl who picked up Billie wins. I don't know who was making it happen, but somehow he ended up riding her and that makes it all the more hilarious. Haha. Billie defies the gender norms of the Stand and Carry. :whistling:

While I may fantasize about going on-stage with Green Day and being all cool and singing awesomely and doing the best stage dive ever, in reality? I would most likely make a complete ass of myself. So I'll hold my tongue regarding the people mentioned in this thread.

And to be totally hypocritical, the chick who kept making out with Billie when he clearly did not fucking want needs someone to tell her that no means NO.

Okay, I'm done.

That's not why she got chucked off!

If you watch a few of the YouTube videos, you can see what makes Billie do his famous, 'Get the fuck off my stage' line...

Longview sins (in order of seriousness):

1) Not moving round the stage enough

2) Forgetting the lyrics

3) Singing out of time

4) Singing out of tune

...and she was doing at least two of these.

Sexually assaulting Billie-Joe is a different matter entirely <shudder> and fully deserves a piss-taking from GDC.

Poor guy, he's only little!

Yeah on the video he definitely says it without any real meaning, it's just a classic BJ line like any other. I just hope the girl sees it that way and doesn't take it on board :/

Y'know, even though Billie is a bitch and not exactly my...er, favorite member, and I've taken the piss out of/raged about him quite a few times, he's like a kitten. You can't really get mad at him. You can get annoyed at him, you can lose respect for him, you can make fun of him, but you can't really hate him. At least, I can't.

Bitchiness or not, he's pretty much essential to GD.

...so I pretty much completely missed the point. Anywho, I think Billie can be pretty damn harsh at times (the whole "kicking fans off the stage" thing and whatnot), and I've wanted to give him a good slap every now and again, but I still don't hate him.

Quick question, has anyone ever cried after Billie booted them off the stage? Because that gives me all the more reason to want to slap that little hoo-er.

^ Yeah, I think it's really easy for us to all sit here and say things like "Oh, he was just playing around" when really, the person it happens to could be pretty torn up about it. God, that'd be awful. I can't imagine why he'd say things like that in a mean way though, so I guess it's just unfortunate that the fan maybe takes it up the wrong way? :/

I don't recall anyone who got upset after being told to get off, but you never know...could have happened.

I remember when I was in Madrid's concert, when they were playing longview, in the last part, Billie came to the side, so he started to ask who knew the rest of the song. There was a girl in front of me and both were saying that we knew that song, so he saw us and he decided to choose the girl that was in front of me, and when she started to sign instead singing My mother says to get a job she sang I'm feeling like a dog in heat And everyone was of fuck you, and I was like, look you have had choose me

well, the audience is not full of american idols, so all of them can't sing so good and maybe are freaking out because you're going to sing front of 14,000 people and it's new thing for them. I get your point, but I think that biggest "sin" is that you're not having fan when you're on stage. And I think that in the most of those videos, no matter how bad they sing, they're having fun and you can see Billie laughing also, so everybody's having fun.

I remember during the first O2 Arena show in London, a girl got up on stage to sing Longview and all she wanted to do was hug and kiss all the band members.

Billie become so anoyed that he had to get security to pull her off stage. I remember the first guy coming to get her missed her and chased her a little around the stage, before another security person helped.

yes, someone posted video of that in yesterday. it was fucking hilarious

^I think he was more annoyed with that girl at the O2 because she seemed more interested in showing off than singing the song. It was fine at first when she was hugging them and stuff, but she just carried on and on ignoring his request for her to just sing the song for too long so he had to get rid of her . She didn't seem too bothered about it though, I think she was happy just to have been on stage.

I think anyone who has the guts to get up and sing on stage with Green Day is fantastic. The point isn't to sing amazingly well, the point is to put everything into it and have fun! The entertainment comes from watching someone having the time of their life up there, how well they sing has absolutely nothing to do with it.

As for criticizing fans who take the opportunity to hug or kiss Billie Joe - how many times has Billie grabbed hold of and kissed fans on stage without asking permission??? I'm pretty sure he's fine with it, it's all in good fun.

Amen to that!

Yeah, that's the way round I meant it, as long as you entertain the crowd he doesn't seem to care too much about the tunefulness.

Perhaps at the top of the list should have been 1) molesting band members and making no attempt to actually sing :D but that's a bit obvious !!

Some of these videos make me cringe. I'd love to go onstage and sing. However I'm not sure how I'd react. Plus I have no timing and I'm tone deaf.

But I know the lyrics! But if you get chosen know the damn lyrics. I mean some fans do get OTT. But you never know your reaction.

I mean some of you guys have gone on stage and got like photos of it after. You guys seem to take the experience normally. If you know what I mean...

The guy in Birmingham seemed cool. He was sitting in the que opposite all day. Anyway his performance was really lively and funny, but i think the stage dive kinda got messed up. He was a little overweight, so when he stage dived all the crowd moved sidewards and Billie seemed really worried that he had hurt himself, but the man was fine.

Here is the performance link and here is the stage dive link

I'd fall to pieces if i got up there i think. I don't know though, as i've never tried anything like that before.

^^ He was pretty good, both perfoming and singing.

Billie's face after he plummetted to the floor was great, you could see him thinking, 'Oh, shit..!'

 I love that video, Billie seemed so, comfortable when he climbed up on her, priceless!!

if billie told me to get the f*** of his stage or just say ok who's next, i probably would have cried lololol

I'd probably just stand there like an idiot, trying to remember the words! (I get extremely nervous, very easily.)

And, this is my new favorite thread! :)

After reading about a show in San Fran in Sept. 05, it confirmed that the whole "Get your ass off my fucking stage!" is just a sort of catchphrase he uses because the guy he said it to was great and apparently part of one of the best bands they had on stage all tour. :)
