I *love* your spinning wheel analogy. The guitar rhythm and the meter of the song support that vision so, so well, and when I listen to the song now, I've got this spinning wheel stuck inside my head -- see what you did to me (and will you please keep doing it)?? :D I also think you're exactly right when you say that Good Riddance tells you there's something bigger out there waiting for you, and that the song "calls on you to have faith." My sister is going through a rough patch right now that she'll undoubtedly get through better than she is now, she just doesn't "feel" that yet -- and I *so* need to tell her to listen to this song.

Thanx so much. :)

This song hugs at my heart strings. Tbh, I rarely listen to it because it brings up a flood of bad memories.

The live version brings me to tears—there is so much emotion in it.

I think I like the version from the Brain Stew/Jaded single better than the Nimrod one, there is something about it that I guess I enjoy more.

Sharon, you are so sweet ! But I thought it was Novacaine - maybe the cosmos have affected both our memories and it was really Horseshoes and Handgrenades .

I do interpret this song in sign language but I could have sworn it was Novacaine I did at your house.

I think this song is the one a GD show just wouldn't be the same without. It's the live song for me. Simply breathtaking.

So, I was at this annual dinner dance thing that my husband and I go to every year - it's a fundraiser for scholarships. As they were announcing the scholarship winners, they played this song - the studio version, the 'fuck' barely audible - but it was there, and my hubby and I smiled at each other each time it came on! I got to hear it three times

You mean you got to hear the "fuck" three times or the song three times?

I can just picture you and Bren sitting there smiling at each other each time - that's so sweet!

I remember you doing sign lanuage for Novacaine. Because I was watching you :ninja: It was really interesting to see even though it put a little grin on my face sometimes, in a good way though!

You did several throughout the evening. As the guitar got passed around and people played their favourites, this one came up pretty often.

There were a lot of Cosmos going around that night!

actually both :D At times he can be non-appreciative or impatient with my love for Green Day, but once in a while he gets into it, and I think he forgets himself, lol. It was sweet actually, and fun like we had a little secret we weren't sharing. Mind you, this was after several Patron and cranberrry cocktails!

This is a song that has a special place in my heart. The first time I saw it live, I ended up in tears. It was such an emotional moment for me and everyone around me. The emotion in the arena/dome was indescribable. I look forward to those moments at their concerts.

I think many people can relate to this song on many different levels. I know that I can connect this song to my personal life.

Everytime I watch biab and see all the people crying during good riddance, I always cry.

There's just something about the song that appeals to so many people on so many different levels.

I just love it.

I guess if you're a Green Day fan then you just automatically fall in love with the song.

This really is a great song, I never really get tired of hearing it

Aha I haven't seen that new year's video in like 4 years, that is hilarious. He sounds like he's dying

He is so wasted

I remember when I was about 11 or 12 I think, this little boy in our school talent show got up and played/sang this song! He won the talent show but I'd never heard the song before, I wasn't in to that kind of music really at that point and I thought it was an outrage that he won the talent show

Looking back now of course he should have won it! I'd be cheering him on now! Haha.

I love this song, I don't get tired of listening to it either, it gives me goosepimples when I hear it.

my little cousin told me "oh, yesterday I was watching the channel 26 and in a commercial I heard this Green Day Song, Good Riddance". I taught her so well

this is the last day, right? I wanna say how much I love this song, even if it haunts me everywhere I go

this is the last day, right?

Yes, tomorrow will be a new SotW. It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right :).

I think this is what makes it such a beautiful song. It has its message but everyone can relate to it in their own way. It's very sentimental, can remind of something significant in the past, and makes you reflect about the future at the same time. At least, it's the way I see it.

Oh and I forgot to add that I love the violin in record version
