I really do like everything about this song - primarily the thoughts behind it, but I also think Billie sounds perfect singing it - even though he didn't write it. I love the long drawn out TheeeEere's too.

04rebhop Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Strange i was listening to this song when i had to walk to the shop and i was thinking about it. When i first got this album this was the song i loved the most and i listened to it all the time. It still is one of my favourites on the album. Every time I listen to it i think about Al Sobrante for some reason, but it also reminds me of the best two days of my life - the two Green Day gigs i went to in October. This really is a great song!

The fact that he's not in the band anymore shouldn't damage the general feeling about it...he was in Green Day at the time the song was recorded, and perhaps written, and one's judgement shouldn't be clouded because of the absence of Tre. Well, that's just my thought on it :/

Hermione Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I really like the melody of this song, probably the most interesting melody on the album. Especially "I was there-ere-ere, I was there-ere-ere!" . I love the lyrics too. It's such a lovely bittersweet, reflective song.
