Looking back what I have done

There's lots more life to live

At times I feel overwhelmed

I question what I can give

But I don't let it get me down

Or cause me too much sorrow

There's no doubt about who I am

I always have tomorrow

thats my fave part...i used to have those lyrics on my facebook, in the little box under my profile pic

I love this tune, I consider myself lucky because I got to hear it live in the soundcheck, no lyrics though

I love the guitar on this song it's so drone-y and jangly but with a rocket under its ass. :)

Great choice! beautiful song...I remember that when I bought 1,039 SOSH I played this song every day of the week for a month...I like it very much

It's not one of my favorite Green Day songs, but great choice, anyway. :)

I quite like the lyrics, and I can often relate them with myself. In my opinon, the best part is

"But I don't let it get me down

Or cause me too much sorrow

There's no doubt about who I am

I always have tomorrow"

I'm glad I knew John wrote it, haha.

THIS IS MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE GREEN DAY SONG....EVER!! :o

Oh my God I can't believe it made it into SOTW!! It reminds me SO much of 2005 when I first got the album. It's one of the songs that relates to me most. Aggghhh, I love it so much!!

I look into the past and I want to make it last, I was there...

Seriously considering getting that tattooed under the pocket watch. It's my favourite lyric because it pinpoints my nostalgia about things and how I always feel like I need to be reminded about positive things in my past to feel comfortable and happy.

My favourite part musically is after the second chorus when the guitar solo bursts in and then you hear Mike singing "Looking back upon my life" and Billie Joe singing "On my life" in harmony in the background

This was one of my 1st favourites from 1039. Reminds me of listening to Green Day whilst doing my paper round back in 94/95. Love the way they opened up the Den, Wigan 1991 show with this. Glad they dropped the AHHH AHHHH from the background of the verse tho! (E.g Sweet children at Gilman street 89). Great choice for song of the week.

YAY, my suggestion! :D

I really like this song. Good choice.

Yay! One of my all time Green Day songs. It means a lot to me and I can realate to the lyrics in a pretty personal way. Really love this song a lot

i don't really like this song, just because was written by Al Sobrante. But it's catchy, and it makes you think about everything you have lived.

Definitely the perfect song to end the year with - it describes how I feel about all of the great experiences I've had this year, which is what I want to focus on now that 2009 is coming to an end. Because it's been a really crazy year for me, but mostly in a good way.

this song makes me a little bit sad :( ..anyway..

"But I don't let it get me down

Or cause me too much sorrow

There's no doubt about who I am

I always have tomorrow "

Haha, sorry guys. I'm just listening to it and can't really get into it, so yeah, >I don't even know why. And yep, the "I was there"-part is still horrible.

edit. Wait, the Bridge was quite nice.. but there's that chorus again. >.<
