Bastard of 1967 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Okay so a few days ago someone metioned about joining the two vids together and i was one of the people who decided to try it out.I stayed up all night editing the two videos together and i hope you enjoy it !to me im not such a good video editor. i call my self around the middle of bad and good so yeah..uhmmmmRATE ME ! :]Here's The Link !http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9943VECAThat's a nice mashup you pulled together! Thanks for doing that!I would hate inserting the band into the video. I wouldn't want to mess with it, it's great as it is. A music video doesn't HAVE to have the band in it, look at JoS.You have a point there...and as I look at Flip4life's mash-up video there were some parts where I was thinking "I'd rather see the OnPoint video continuing here instead of seeing it cut to the concert footage". If this is going to be the song's official-unofficial video though, the vice-chicks need tattoos. Edit: Just watched it again and this time noticed that one of the chicks has a killer tattoo on her chest. She's on the left when Lucifer is up on his soapbox, and you can see it in a few shots.
Trina Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I adore this so much. Hopefully people who didn't quite grasp whay the song is about get it now. Wishing and hoping they make it an official video.
Brian Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 It was really well done! I thoroughly enjoyed it!
captain peroxide Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 It doesn't work for me. :/Go to the link I posted and download it.
Metanoia Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 i really really love that vid ......it should be the official one for green day =)

Fuzz Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 I love how the devil seems to really get into the guitar scenes. I'm pretty certain he's doing naughty things to it.
insomniaticnimrod Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 when i first saw the vid the devil/preacher guy reminded me of someone, and i finally figured it outhe reminds me of Dante Hicks (played by Brian O'Halloran) i think its the whole beard thing hahaanyone else think so?
norcalgreendayfan Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 that was awesome, thats the kinda video I would like to see for East Jesus Nowhee
Epyon Custom Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Everything was good except for the guitar battling. It was WAY too cheesy. Plus, the look on the main character's face when he played made me want to punch him.
Bastard of 1967 Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 I love how the devil seems to really get into the guitar scenes. I'm pretty certain he's doing naughty things to it.That actor is the bomb...really nails the part from start to finish.
Juju Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 that was absolutely brilliant. That actor is the bomb...really nails the part from start to finish.indeed.
RebelofSuburbia Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 that was amazing. They should've made something like that as official video. With Billie as Satan and Mike and Tre playing on that stage too.I did feel sorry when they broke that dude's guitar though
Hermione Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 This is bloody brilliant! It's such a great interpretation. Now if only it was Billie playing that priest we'd be getting somewhere...
captain peroxide Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 This is bloody brilliant! It's such a great interpretation. Now if only it was Billie playing that priest we'd be getting somewhere... I think it's actually really refreshing to see a video without the band in it. I think what's important to sell here is the message behind the song, and that comes from the quality of the acting. I'm not saying Billie would do a bad job, but Bill Van Noland nailed it and did a much better job than I think Billie could do. The band doesn't have to be in every video, and even if they wanted to be, I think having them play the main parts would be a mistake.
J'net Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 This article explains all:Miramar resident Bill Van Noland may reach exalted heights with his company, J&B Tree Service, but he is now plumbing the depths on YouTube as a passionate Satan extolling rural townsfolk in the Green Day video “Road to Nowhere.”The video is built around the song “East Jesus Nowhere,” the first selection of “Charlatans and Saints,” one of three sections of the trio’s 2009 album “21st Century Breakdown.” Three years in the making, this eighth studio album by Green Day has been critically described as a rock-opera snapshot of the era and been well received.Unapologetic and uncompromising, “East Jesus Nowhere” scathingly rebukes conventional religion.Shot in rural Columbia, Calif. (in Sonoma County,) it tells a story, beginning with the arrival of a goateed man in a priest’s collar — Lucifer, played by Van Noland — in a shiny black vintage car.Flanked by scantily clad, buxom girls and men in business suits who rake in donations, he mesmerizes the crowd. The only ones not listening are a mysteriously quiet older farmer and a wholesome young man, who eventually duel it out with Lucifer in the timeless good-versus-evil battle. The video, which Van Noland learned of through his agent, marks his second foray as Satan; he was also in the as-yet-unreleased independent film “The Invited.”Initially, the producers had envisioned him in the role of the guitar-playing hero who confronts Lucifer. But that didn’t appeal to Van Noland. In films, he said, it’s the bad-guy roles that are the most fun.So he went to the audition looking the part — in a goatee he’d grown for a then-current role as a Slavic police captain — and explained that playing Lucifer would piggyback on his recent role in “The Invited.”They agreed. “I walked out with the part, right away,” he said.To see the video, go to YouTube and enter Green Day “Road to Nowhere.”What’s next for Van Noland, after a second film incarnation as Lucifer? An April shoot in Santa Fe, New Mexico, for the upcoming film “Hate Factory,” a true story about a bloody 36-hour prison riot.
farley drexel hatcher Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Wow, that's different to say the least! Here is the video It says on Youtube that it's not the official video, just inspired by it, but by the looks of the credits the band are aware and supportive of it? That's what I got from it.

That's what I got from it.Thanks, Lorraine - I'll edit the title accordingly. It looks like it must at least be close to the official video, though - it's got all the production values, etc. I'll also add the youtube link to the OP (I was too busy watching it to do it before ).
Martyn Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I remember seeing this on GDA before.Yup posted before. Not offical...but maybe the band/etc have been contacted since it was posted before? (before uploading to youtube...)
