Mar Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Just because we HAVE them doesn't mean we PAID for them Thank you for saying it so I wouldn't be the first
Miss Hedgie Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Hmmm I wish you could buy b-sides separately. :/
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I wouldn't buy it either. And, I prefer physical packaging tbh. I mean, if anything were to happen to your computer, your screwed over, aren't you? (assuming you don't download the songs onto blank discs)Anyway, the actual cds are lifetime while as iTunes is probably not likely.Yeah, exactly. And I enjoy physical CD's with a case, a lyric booklet, an actual disc and all way more than a file on my computer.
**kookai** Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I think I have every song Green Day wrote or just Billie Joe singing on my ipod.....
misslyssx Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 $99.99 for songs I already have? No, thanks. Random but this comes out om my birthday I do need 21 Guns with the AI Cast though ...
Mrs. Nobody Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Tbh even if I didn't have all the albums, i wouldn't buy this.I hate buying digital, apart from if it's just the one song.
LookForLove Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 The only song I don't have on that list is "That's All Right", but I still can't find that anywhere. I wish iTunes would sell it as a stand-alone track, because I'm not paying $100 to get one new song.
fainiel Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 The Essentials is all I could find on iTunes Uk, that's not it is it?They do them for loads of artists and genres. I think they're more for people who are just getting into a certain band or genre. Their choices are interesting. They've put Jackass down as one of the basic must haves and left Longview in the next steps category. And their little bio made me laugh!
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 But who would pay so much money if you "just get into a band"? I don't really see the point in it. I mean, maybe it's just me, but when I just get into a band I first download stuff for free to see if I like it before paying money for it...And their bio was funny, yeah
Empty Laughter Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I think I already have all these songs... & wouldn't waste money for something I've already have... but for those who are just getting to know their music & have that money is a good option I think... you save a lot of time that you could spend searching for every song... (:
Lauren Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 yeah... no. cool idea though... then again, if you're just getting into green day, you're not gonna buy all their songs at once, and if you like them already, you already have their albums. so how does this work?
fainiel Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 yeah... no. cool idea though... then again, if you're just getting into green day, you're not gonna buy all their songs at once, and if you like them already, you already have their albums. so how does this work? The year by year iTunes essentials are pretty neat, because you can look up your birth year (1985 over here) listen to the snippets of the cool 80s music, and then go listen to them all for free on Spotify and have a little 80s dance party in your bedroom.
Juan Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 It's a cover of a Husker Du (I believe?) song. It was a b-side to Warning and is on one of the Warning (the song) singles. First single listed under Warning. Looking at the song list on GDA, I'm surprised I missed that. :/EDIT: Oh no, it is on there...just as I Don't Wanna Know If You Are LonelyAs the resident Hüsker Dü fan, I certify that is in fact correct. However they misspelled the title. It's "Don't Want To Know If You Are Lonely" BTW, those complaining this is the same as a greatest hits album, and those are directed towards the people that aren't really familiar with them.
Fuzz Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 It's pretty funny that people are complaining about this. Obviously if you have the music it's not aimed at you.
Atcs64 Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 The only thing I have to complain about is I see songs on there that I have wanted for a long time.. maybe two or three songs, and I would have to buy all of them. They should put the rare songs up separately. I wouldn't care at all if they priced them higher if they have to.
blueboy Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I want to know about B-Sides and live songs, but I can't see what's in the link. could someone put here the full list of songs?
Supermodel*Robot Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 This is a pretty stupid idea, no offense. The only people interested would be hardcore fans, who most likely have all, or at least nearly all their albums. Other people aren't going to go and buy their entire discography. Plus, I'm not going to blow $100 bucks on something I can't physically touch. Call me old fashioned.
DarrenDookie Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I've got all of them Well, except 21 Guns with the AI cast and for some reason I dont have "I Fought The Law", I know I had it and its gone ..*goes to limewire*
American Basket Case Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 any chance of getting the whole list of songsI'd like to see this, too. It's the b-sides I'm most interested in. (I have a generic MP3 player, not an ipod, so I don't even have itunes on my computer. I'm just curious as to what songs are being offered.)And I enjoy physical CD's with a case, a lyric booklet, an actual disc and all way more than a file on my computer.Me too. When I finally had the time to "rediscover" GD last summer, I was able to find every album online, but I eventually went back and bought physical CDs. As someone else mentioned, I'm a little worried that having everything only on my computer is risky.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 It's pretty funny that people are complaining about this. Obviously if you have the music it's not aimed at you.People on here complain about everything. It gets so old.174 songs for 99 bucks is a bargain. If you have them all don't buy it, but do you really have to complain about it?Obviously 21CB is sparking new interest and fans for the band and most new fans go check out their prior stuff, this seems like a good idea from a marketing and/or record label point of view.

It is so cheap for the amount you get. I would willing buy it if 1. I didn't already have all the songs on offer 2. It was available in the UK It is great for all the new fans of green day that are probably thinking "Aren't green day a new band? I'm sure they have only released 21st Century Breakdown" like a lot of people did when AI was released.
madswester Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 i would not buy i have all the song on their exept 21 with AI... Also you cant get on the danish itunes store...
Sanity Loan Posted December 22, 2009 Author Posted December 22, 2009 This is available now on iTunes. I just downloaded "Don't Want To Know If You Are Lonely" and it sounds great! The Collection comes with a Digital Booklet... I wish you didn't have to buy the whole damn thing to get it though.
