gusgd Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Whatever. I'll let them decide. If they start singing electro-pop, I will still support them haha
**kookai** Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 'cause after December 2012 we'll all be dead!!! I hope we get it before December 21st 2012, would love to hear it before I die, maybe whilst I'm dying
Guest Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 They'll probably keep surprising usYeah Like Tre' doing a solo Polka album!
alaniluau Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Yeah Like Tre' doing a solo Polka album! And all the songs can be about Japanese subways!
Guest Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 And all the songs can be about Japanese subways! OH AND...nevermind thats too much for tre to handle for his balls...oh wait he only has one.
BraedonHorbacio Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I could see them making an EP that has about 5 songs that sound like Lights Out. If they did that i bet it would be around April or May. Then next i could see them making a power-pop album. Really tight 3 minute songs.
Nymrawd Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 will be launched in 2012and the name will be "is the end?"euiahieauhieauhe HAHA that would be amazing!! i really hope we don't have to wait until 2015, that's just torture. i can't waaaaaaiiiiittttt!! and then another tour, omg. i cannot wait. but yea, like many of you said, i don't know what they would bring out next and i can't see it measuring up to american idiot or 21cb....unless they create another rock opera, but maybe people will get sick of that..? i don't know, but they never disappoint me. they're so epic
novacaine_kid Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I wouldn't mind if they released another concept style album, however I would rather they just made a straight up record where each song stands out on its own, with no common themes, like Nirmod, Warning etc. But saying that, they don't seem capable of making a bad album whatever they choose to do, so anything in the not too distant future would be nice
BMTGREENDAY Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I think China is a great idea. American Idiot and 21CB are saturated with American culture and politics - 21CB to the extent that it's claustrophobic - and it makes artistic sense to gtfo and go someplace where none of those references apply. My thoughts as well. Imagine the increase in fan base as well if they do it rightI didnt think they could equal AI, But for me, they did it really well with 21stCB which is really an extension and continuation of where AI left off, ie western politics and society. I guess first and foremost what we can look forward to is a live CD/DVD of 21st CB from their tour (most likely recorded at the wembly gig). That should give us our GD fix next year, particularly behind the scenes stuff. In any case I dont mind waiting 3-4 years for another GD CD. It will be quality and will be worth the wait like 21CB has been. The only potentially sad thing is , at live gigs they may cut out some older GD stuff from the set list to accomodate newer stuff, unless the gig goes for 4 hours
theclassof13 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Gud question...First of all... i really hope they make a new album (no doubt the will) as i missed out on seeing them live in Auckland, New Zealand this year. So hopefully the come back on their next tour!!!Anyways... They were talking about goin to China and making a quick punk/pop album in 2006 but decided against that to start writing another concept record (soon to become 21st Century Breakdown). They could do the punk/pop quickie for their next album... you never know!!!Personally, im a fan of EVERYTHING green day put out, weather is be an early EP or a 18 Track Rock Opera so i'll jst take what they will dish out... lol.

The Platypus! Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I hope they do a cross between Dookie and AI would be immence
Fuzz Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I've been thinking about this recently, and I definitely do hope they re-visit most of the Dookie sound. I'm not one of the people who thinks Dookie was their last great album, but they have explored a lot of other sounds - and i think 21CB is very relatable to American Idiot's sound, so I hope they do something like that, but with Dookie. We need some more punchy pop punk. I don't want them to get too grand on the rock side of the sound. Then they're just U2 with better music.
ALISON! Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I see it as because AI was such new territory for them, 21CBD is the embodiment of the guys fully embracing of this new direction that they've decided to move in. Like, American Idiot was amazing - but incredibly scary because they didn't know how anyone would react to it. Now that they know the reaction to it, they've made the decision to more or less continue on in the same direction seen in 21CBD. The way I see it, AI was testing the waters, 21CBD is finding the middle ground, and the next album will in essence be somewhere that they're all comfortable being. That's just what I think anyway - I hope that made some shred of sense haha
Supermodel*Robot Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 No more concept albums please.I agree. As much as I love AI and 21stCB, another one would be too much.Head into a new direction please! Pull an Insomniac move!
ALISON! Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I personally reckon it'll be something of a mix between Nimrod and 21CBD
Minority_GD Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I'm actually afraid of the next album. But I hope they'll release it faster than 21CB!I'd die if I had to wait 6 years for the next album!

mechanicalman Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I imagine the title will be something like 'America Sucks' or 'We Hate Society'.
Sanity Loan Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I imagine the title will be something like 'America Sucks' or 'We Hate Society'.Sadly it seems like that is what the songs/albums are becoming
