Mar Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Well said, Mar. Thanks! It's exactly why I love the song though...to be honest, I didn't really listen to the lyrics the first couple of times I heard the song, and then I paid attention and realized...wow, this is a great love song.
Prisca Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 ^ Yep. Especially the acoustic version. The first time I heard it, I seriously couldn't stop playing it. It was on repeat for daaaaaays!
**She** Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Wow, the song I suggested (a couple of times ) was finally picked. Thanks, I am really happy about this. I always wondered about the meaning of the title. I associated it with the back of a "razor", like a sharp knife, with which you cut yourself and hurt you, being a metaphor for getting hurt by a hard life or experiences. Can anyone follow my thoughts :/ ? Now I know better, so thanks for the explanation.I like this song to be song of the week because it means so much to me. Like other people in this thread said, you can relate to the lyrics easily. I also have a "Juliet" (just with a different name) in my life, which I really care about. We have been together through hard times and this songs always remindes me of that. When I first heard the song, I realized that Billie Joe is able to express things/feelings/emotions which are also in my head/heart, just that he is able to put them into words when I am not. This made me fall in love with him and Green Days music even more. The lyrics are so simple and easy to understand but still absolutely incredible.

Savior of Rebellion Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 What a great song, who says you can't be honest and somewhat mature when you express things creatively...I'm a victim of that, maybe that's why I don't always get taken seriously "James! James! James!"
