Problems with Idiot Club membership

people who renew are able to get access to the site and forums. like I`ve said before though, I wouldnt recommend renewing though as I dont believe this should be happening. t-shirts should be sent out to people as and when their renewal date comes around. if they arent due to renew then they should not be getting these emails or be denied access to the site and forums.

as for pre-sales, I dont think we will be having any more for a while.

and yes, some members still have access to the site without having to renew. I`m one of those.

anybody who is having issues, please email the admin and let them know that you have been affected. you probably wont hear anything back for a few days with the number of people that look to have been affected.

... I've joined the IC since a month about. I completed all the registration correctly and obviously the payment too, but, I never been able to login..everytime I try to access, it not works, and appears to me a message who says I've an SQL syntax error(I don't know what exactly is, I've searched for it and I guess it's referred to the programming language) and it's something referred to my password..so I've sent an e-mail to: memberships@idiotclub.com ...I haven't had any reply so I wrote again and again and again..I tried to contact info@idiotclub.com too..but there the same, no reply...so I don't really know what to do...I thought to ask for change my password, but, if you go in section for whom forgot it, they re-sent to you your password..but, it not work the same..

Did you ever heard something similar before?

This could be caused if you have a special character in your username or password. Sometimes, the sign up page will let you enter something that later, when trying to access the database, causes it to blow up. So for example, I have an apostrophe (') in my name. I've had that as my user name on GDA for a while, but a recent code change caused problems whenever I did a database query (e.g. trying to log in to the admin page). Of course, Andres fixed it immediately!

So, do you have any special characters, especially apostrophes, quotes, commas, asterisks (*), or percent signs (%) in your username or password? That could be one cause. However, even if this is the cause, you need technical help to get it resolved. I would badger the idiot club email address everyday until they fix it. Good luck!

i have my membership for 7months and there saying it expired :/ i will email them i dont often go on the IC i wonder could this be why but even if it is i paid for 1years membership and they cant cut me off like that

You'd think that charging a fee to be there would ensure some kind of tech support to fix things when they break, or at least fix it sooner than 4 days later.

I wish they'd just start paying me to take care of it. Hah, i don't think that's the way to get in. Insulting the current team.

views on this have been passed on though and will be again if need be. sorry for all the problems that members are having now and for the lack of info the mod team can give you right now but our hands are tied. we wont get anything through until some time tomorrow. I myself will be in work until gone 4pm no doubt but will be checking for up dates and passing on any that we get both on the idiot club forums, here and on facebook as well. might even fire up my old myspace account.

I also got the same e-mail about an expired membership.. (I joined in late April or early May)

I seriously hope they attempt to correct whatever is wrong over there.. there are too many great forums like this one for free out there.

I like to support Green Day and have made some great contacts in the IC, it would be sad to lose them over a glitch..

I've never had a problem to log in, nor haven't I got an e-mail but I sure want a t-shirt So I just wondering, do you have to renew your membership to get one? That would suck, 'cause that means I can't get one before next year..

okay I`ve had an email back from the admin and the erros over people renewal dates is being worked on and anyone whose account has not expired should have access again some time today. if you have paid to renew when you werent due to, please do what I have suggested before and email the membership addy if you havent already.

one other bit of info, Canada is considered international when it comes to this at least due to shipping and paperwork so Canadian members will need to pay the higher shipping fee.

Thanks for the info, Netty. One question left in my mind: Is the t-shirt mandatory to rejoin, or can anyone who doesn't want to pay shipping just not accept the t-shirt?

I`m about to email back so will ask about that and whether members can get the t-shirt early or if they have to wait until they renew. I`m guessing we will have to wait for that. thank you so much for this explanation, now I understand which is the problem, I've apostrophes in my password ...uffffffff...I sent them two mails everyday, in the last weeks, then I stopped because I really hate become obsessive..anyway,I'll try again even if they continue to ignore me...thanks again..

Oh, I'm glad I could help . If you just tell them you need to change your password, I think they can reset it for you and send you a temporary pw. I wouldn't expect it today, though, since they're working on this other issue (and it might be a good idea to make your subject line really clear - they might think your email is just another one regarding the current problem).
