SpiffyGiffy Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Great song I even try and use it some times to help me sleep
Chad is Rad Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 This is one of my very favorite Green Day songs of all time, I'm really upset that I didn't get to see it live. I realize more depth and meaning to it every time I hear it. It's just one of those songs that makes you want to cry but also helps you realize how great life is at the same time.
BMTGREENDAY Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I played this song to a mate of mine (he knows Im a massive GD fan) I asked him who sings it, He had no idea. When I told him it was GD he didnt believe me He loved the song Not sure if this has been posted but its a live version of MDP some years back now Billie has had a few too many I think but sounds bloody awesome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3j2aRHWcizs Agree with J'net - Warning CD very under rated

Princess Consuela Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3j2aRHWcizs I'm impressed he didn't screw up the lyrics. Apparently it's harder to remember them when he's completely sober
saraHsunshine Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Lyrics today was the first time I have ever watched this video...it was really weird when I realized I have seen every video except this one

Guest ☼ Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 I like how simple the video actually is. Makes you really follow the song.
Abbey. Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 I'm kind of sad to see this no longer be SOTW!me too...its been a great discussion...sorry to see this one float away.
J'net Posted December 7, 2009 Author Posted December 7, 2009 me too...its been a great discussion...sorry to see this one float away.I feel the same way, and I expect everyone to live up to the expectations you've fostered in me after this thread. So, from now on, we should ALWAYS have great discussion for every song .
**She** Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 But it's still possible to continue discussing in this thread here even if it is not song of the week anymore, right?I am already curious about the next choice. I also hope the next discussion will be as good as this one. This thread helped me to understand some parts of the song I wasn't sure about and I think other non-naive speakers of english think the same about this thread.
fev5 Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Hearing this song live made me love it even more

This thread helped me to understand some parts of the song I wasn't sure about and I think other non-naive speakers of english think the same about this thread.Oh, yes, we can discuss any past Song of the Week, whenever some thought occurs to us about it.And be sure to always ask questions about songs you're not clear about. Many people on here are happy to share thoughts, but we don't always know if there's any uncertainty in other people. So just let us know!

Actually, this thread encouraged me to have a better insight into chosen songs. So prepare for lots of silly questions you native English speakers

It's like a feeding frenzy .
Nova-Caine Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 One of my top 3 GD songs ever, always fighting it out for top spot along with Give Me Novacaine and Christie Road. This song is so haunting, the realisation when you grow up that life isn't how you imagined it would be as a child, all those idealistic notions are shot down, life as an adult is harsh its real and its hard, nothing comes free and quite often you get shot down by those around you.Yet there is hope within the song, he realises that yes although it is hard that if you dig deep down inside you can find something that will make it all worth while 'a lesson learned of me and you' 'Give me something that I need, satisfaction guaranteed' Life doesn't guarantee you anything but if you put your heart and soul into what you want you can achieve anything in life.Beautiful song by a beautiful human being
Metanoia Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 I xcant stop listening to this song at the moment.its stuck in my head and its just so beautiful !
Ruh Buh Juh Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 I love this song. A few years ago, I decided to go all out and bought (online, naturally) every GD album (previously they'd all been downloaded, but to be a true fan, you need the hard copy!), whilst playing through all albums, this stood out as one of my favouite Green Day songs. It's my favourite song on Warning, but slightly behind the likes of The Grouch, Redundant, Homecoming, Peacemaker and Good Riddance. Amazing tune though. I love the acousticness of it all.
jess123 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 OMG. I just signed onto the idiot club today and realized I won the macy's day parade contest!!! They haven't emailed me or anything yet... but so exciting!!
