Green Day Converts

I did! - In a sorta backwards way!

My friend showed me American Idiot (the song) back in early '05, a song he was really into. Then i started to like them, then love them, and slowly become overly obsessed with them, and then i converted that same friend of mine over to also 'loving them', and we went to two Green Day concerts last october, and we're going to another this summer too.

He's not that much into Green Day as i am, though, probably never will be... I just don't think he really sees it for more than cool riffs, and nice beats.

Sometimes i tend to think that electronica music destroys your sense of appreciating quality music, and then you only see music on the surface, and not beneath it.

I'm not a convert, I explored them at myself and I didn't achieve to convince people.

And I even achieved that the people I know hate them.

2 friends, my mum and my little cousin. Now I'm trying to convert my bigger cousin, she is into rap and commercial pop, she's not easy to convert, but I got her to like 21 guns and iViva la Gloria! , although she still love Jonas Brothers xD

I'm dead against converting people to like or dislike anything against their will. Not everybody in the world has to like or dislike the same thing you do, yeesh.

I've never converted anyone. I think.

Umm sort of...My sister is into a completely different taste of music than I am...she listens to 'N Dubz' and 'Snoop Dog' etc. But she kind of likes Green Day, probably from the amount of times Ive played their CD's or made her watch Bullet In A Bible but she said to me the other day she wouldn't mind seeing Green Day.

Found them myself. Converted a friend from a casual new-stuff listener to more of an old-school listener.

But a lot of my friends can't stand Green Day...

I insisted my daughter come to the concert with me so she could see why I am obsessed with them.

she wouldn't camp out with me for the barrier, but she did come along into GA and she had to admit they were the best live band she had ever seen, and now she plays their stuff all the time.

she even came with to to Brisbane for the next concert because she really wanted to see them again.

That's a good one! Parent convincing her kid to like Green Day. :D

Almost all members of my family hate Green Day to death, so I can't really convert them. :/ I keep on talking about the members though, and my older sister's getting interested in them. And from all the times I've been singing their songs, sometimes my siblings sing the songs unconsciously and then they go, "Uh oh I'm singing crap."

I've "converted" a lot of my friends already - it's more of exposing the music to them and then getting fan-ish about it. :D

I s'pose you could sort of call me a convert. I was always a fan of the older Green Day material when I was about 11. I even got Dookie and listened to it inside and out on multiple occasions. When American Idiot came out I listened to it inside and out as well but eventually stopped listening altogether. I guess I was just bored with the band since I'd over played the majority of their material. When I was about 16 I remember being one of those stereotypical ass holes and argued with some girl about the band. Four years later I took up a job in a Blockbuster video store and my boss was obsessed with Green Day. We became bestest friends and she asked me if I wanted to go to a Green Day gig with her so I started listening to all their stuff again and forgot why I ever went off them in the first place.

I converted my mom first, haha. xD I was the one that got her to listen to American Idiot after she bought it for me, and consequently all their albums before that one. AND SHE WENT WITH ME TO SEE THEM ON THE 21stCB TOUR LAST YEARRR~!

I also converted my dad! Now he listens to them almost as obsessively as I do. O.o

would love to find some people near me who are into green day for more than just their radio hits. they are not big here at all. lots of country lovers and rap, so hard to even get a foot in the door. hard core gd lovers in the rural heartland, where are you? i'm lonely...
