Not sure if this was mentioned, but the Canucks play Holiday everytime a goal is scored. I've been watching a lot more hockey lately... I've also heard East Jesus Nowhere, Know Your Enemy, and Brain Stew a few times. When I first heard the opening guitar for Brain Stew, I stopped what I was doing, looked at the TV and thought, am I hearing what I think I'm hearing? then I heard Billie start signing and my mom actually looked at me and said, you're not gonna let me fast foreward through this are you? then I started freaking out. that's also the game that played EJN too...

I just remembered one, we were driving somewhere and my mom is like 'look at the bus in front of us' and i look and see an ad for a local radio station that's motto is 'playing what we want', you can usually hear the really big and well known rock bands on there. so anyway the ad had 5 t-shirts with different band names and one of them said Green Day the other shirts said Aerosmith, ACDC, and i think Nirvana and the Rolling Stones. needless to say i freaked out^^

just remembered another, i was sick one day and i was lying on the couch watching and show on the best 50 pranks ever, and they showed a prank where a guy was reading off a teleprompter and someone changed it so the guy ended up saying 'i am an idiot' or something like that, and right after he said that the show started playing American Idiot while replaying the clip. It made being sick that much more bearable

I never knew what equilibrium meant. Everytime I listened to Jaded I thought "Y'know I really should look that up." but never got around to it

Only thing I can think of is once in my Anthropology class a year ago, my professor was talking about the different cultural uses of art, and one of them was for political purposes, and she had on the board "Green Day's 'American Idiot' ". I was geeking out in my head when I saw that.
