Burnout98 Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I'm sad that i haven't found any Green Day references lately
beejeezee Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I just noticed that the months are a reference! J F M A M J J A S O N D
Mar Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 My lazy-ass cat decided to block the cable box by sleeping in front of it, meaning I couldn't change the channel after Jimmy Fallon. He obviously knew Carson Daly's show would randomly play KYE.
BJA TC MD Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Knocked Up is on TV and the girl just said she wants to listen to Green Day. I LOVE THAT KID!!
gloria123 Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I was watching tv and there was a commercial for the New York Times and it showed a small picture of Billie and one from AI
BJA TC MD Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 -Today I realized there was a St. James Ave. near where I live -One of the paintings I am researching for my art assessment is by Banksy, Tre's balloon girl tat -I heard a line of Welcome To Paradise on the radio yesterday morning -There is a guy my class named Mike. In A seating plan he had to sit next to a girl named Brittany -I was at the bowling alley and they played the vid for Seventeen by Jet and I saw the Drunk Bunny, then I got my only strike of The game. A girl got a score of 39 -My French teacher told us to turn to page 86 then he changed her mind and said page 80 -There is a Woolworths ad that uses the theme from Rocky and I remember Billie dancing in BIAB -There is a girl in my class with the initials GD -My mum asked me to count how many eggs were in the fridge and I told her there were 21 guns in the fridge instead of 21 eggs
Nobody Likes Cam Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I just saw this Gerard Way quote, and it's really nice: "If for one minute you think you're better than a sixteen year old girl in a Green Day t-shirt, you are sorely mistaken. Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band. You wore their shirt, and sang every word. You didn't know anything about scene politics, haircuts, or what was cool. All you knew was that THIS music made you feel different from anyone you shared a locker with. Someone finally understood you. This is what music is about." I love that quote. So much.
Stephanie. Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I was having marching band practice outside and we had a break so I lay down on the grass and said "Wake me up when.." then the girl next to me said "when september ends!"
KilljoyFromDetroit Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 i was in the car on my way to my cottage and i looked outside the window when we passed a gas station and i saw a guy pumping gas with a green day shirt on
Nobody Likes Cam Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I was reading a book for school today and there was the line "Mrs. Smiler shook her head, "I think it's all groovy now, what they need to do is get some sleep or they'll be basket cases tomorrow." "...I ran out of my room and showed my mom as soon as I read it
oda Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Saw a new guy at school with a green day shirt on. i feel like i'm growing an army or something
newsflash777 Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Oh this kid was singing "It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right..." under his breath in the hall when I went to go meet Markelle and I spun around and was like WHO IS SINGING GREEN DAY (outloud) and he turned around and then I realized he was like one of the 'coolest' jocks there are at our school and waved him off. I was so disappointed.
BJA TC MD Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Today I went to State Band Championships (we came 3rd btw) and on the 1hr drive home I saw 6 7-11s, a number plate that said AMY, a random sign on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere that said 409 and a sign that said "Greenway". I read it as "Greenday" and almost shouted out that it was two words and not one.
Emilie Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 I'm reading a book called the Clinic where, in the first chapter, the main character mentions driving past Oakland.
Elena Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Today my mum watched a TV show that mostly play shitty pop songs and/or Schlager music and i was bored and came into the room and watched it, too. After a while there came a band who played a pop ballade and in the middle of the song I realized that the singer's (and guitarist) guitar was the Gibson Billie Joe Armstrong Signature (the acoustic one).
Cori Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 My World History teacher the other day said something about "Mass Hysteria" and Idiot Americans in the same class, I think. (I live in America, by the way.) Also, I was walking down the hallway and I saw a kid wearing a Green Day shirt. I'd seen him wear it before, but this is the first time I really took notice. This is kind of random, but the other day I was watching TV and they were saying something about the Green Bay Packers and I kept thinking that they were saying Green Day Packers. Finally, a band made up of teenagers on America's Got Talent called Poplyfe just made it to the finals. They are from Oakland, and in a weird sort of way their guitarist kind of looks like Jakob Armstrong.
classof12 Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 I've seem a reference to them in 2 of my Englishs books, in the first one it was a kind of article about many concert that have started and finished at the same time in differents parts of the world, I remember Green Day was playing in Germany, I think this is a video of the festival My link and another time it was an article talking about different kinds of music and the people which play them, Green Day appeared with Punk Pop music
oda Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 found this on a random tumblr. "that girl with no friends"? LIES

I saw an American Idiot poster on Australian Idol once. Also, my religion teacher said 'remember one thing' and I thought he was gonna say what Billie said in BiAB.
bloodsexbooze31 Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 in the movie "School of Rock" with Jack Black the drummer kid at the end is wearing a Green Day shirt from the warning era, just caught it today and almost jumped out of my seat in excitement

raven052 Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Just realised I currently have 1,039 pictures of Green Day saved on my computer. It's almost a reference within a reference! (refception? )
Nobody Likes Cam Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I saw a trailer for the documentary "Waiting For Superman" which is about how a lot of schools in the US have bad teachers and kids are getting bad educations and they played the instrumental for American Idiot in the backround. I freaked out when I heard it.
KatherineKerplunk Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I was on a train back from London and I heard a guy say "J.A.R" behind me.
