Stephanie. Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 My English teacher was wearing a tie that had guitars on it one day then someone asked if he played guitar. He said yes and he played in a band too. Then someone else said you're too old to play in a band! Then he said "Hey! The guys in Green Day are my age!"
alaniluau Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Most of my teachers graduated from UC Berkeley. That's like one of my choices for Uni. Josie, you sound so British! I'm always jealous of kids that go to UC Berkeley. I think the last reference I saw was on the Despair Faction where there was a thread about which St. Jimmy was better.
Katarina. Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 A few days ago I was in a book shop looking for music magazines. They had Q, and on the back there was an ad for a new album by a band called Noah and the Whale. Last Night on Earth. I thought of the song obviously
pasalaska Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 being in the UK means that a LOT of the bathrooms have Armitage Shanks stuff in them. awesome
Amber. Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 This isn't really a reference, but I was just on the iTunes store and apparently The Vampire Diaries' new episode is called, "Know Your Enemy."
newsflash777 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I just bought a vinyl of Jesus Christ Superstar
drumstick Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 A few days ago I was in a book shop looking for music magazines. They had Q, and on the back there was an ad for a new album by a band called Noah and the Whale. Last Night on Earth. I thought of the song obviously ha! I saw that today in some croatian music magazine lol
Firebert Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Doesn't really count as a Green Day "reference" per se, but I was reading an online review of American Idiot (album), and the reviewer said something about "knowing your enemy." I thought this was awesome given that the review was written almost 5 years before 21st Century Breakdown was released.
OldWhatsHisFace Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 On Get Him To The Greek they played Stop, Drop and Roll!!!! I thought it was cool
heart on a noose Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I've just realized that I have number '86' written on my fridge.
-Billiejoezee- Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Josie, you sound so British! I'm always jealous of kids that go to UC Berkeley. Funny how you're not the first to tell me.
Silverlight Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I was watching a medley of character theme songs on YouTube, and one of the characters had 'She's a Rebel'. I seriously almost had a heart attack.
November's Storms Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 If anyone hasn't read Cometbus #54 Green Day in China and doesn't want to find out whats in it, don't read this Its annoying how Aaron says that when he's in New York, he is stalked by Green Day (in magazines, on the radio, on TV etc) I know I'm not in America but the Green Day references in my life are quite few and far between!
GreenRanger Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Today my english teacher did two. the first was about Holden Caulfield, so nothing special. But then we were talking about the definition of a "pad" (the house kind). and how people used to crash at them if they were going somewhere. One of his examples was "I know a gal in Minnesota, we can crash there." He's way older than Green Day, so it wasn't intentional, but it was a fun connection to make.
Sabz Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 On The Cleveland Show, Cleveland Jnr just said "I may be dumb but im not stupid"
JDookie Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 In my Philosophy's book there's a philosopher called Berkeley... I immediately thought at Green Day!
Poprocks_and_Coke Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Yesterday, a guy on the radio said "The next song is called pitchin´ a ride!" And I understood Hitchin´ a ride. I got mad when I found out that it wasn´t Green Day.
littlegirl-of-suburbia Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Today i went up the Eiffel tower and i saw a graffitied Gloria on a piece of railing...
pasalaska Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Today I saw a mobile library and I fangirled. But it drove away before I could take a picture
MariaWhereDidYouGo? Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 On sunday night I was watching a Tv program about bloopers of some Argentinian series and suddenly one guy showed a picture of Billie and other tried to imitate Billie's face.It was really funny
Laura! Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Tonights episode of NCIS has a character named Commander Tunny.
TheSaltOfTheEarth Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I was leafing through my sister's yearbook the other day and on the first graduates page it said 'In the words of Green Day, "It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right, I hope you had the time of your life!"' That was a pleasant surprise.
Burnout98 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 My old house's toilet brand was Armitage Shanks
