Opezi Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 lol well.. um the black one that i think is pinhead gunpowder, that sticker with the eyes, can you buy that one?
persons Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Yeah, can you email me at gdguitarmaker@yahoo.com There's a story behind that sticker. I was having trouble with that too. BTW...where are your other pics of your Blue?? okay , i'm still working on it. (sorry for the spam)
JonnieSniper Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Here's some pics of my 2 guitars Kind of a "blue" replica, but more individual to myself
FenderDude Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 First of all, I find it kind of pathetic people making copies of "Blue" and buying Billie Joe signatures. Where do you imagine going with that? Maybe a mascarade sure, but as a musician, forget it. Some people here (if they wish to call themselves musicians) really need to find their own style and sound otherwise people will just laugh at you. Also, what people don't realize is that Billie Joe's Fender was inspired heavily by Van Halens "Frankenstein". Ed was the first guy to use a Seymour Duncan humbucker (bridge position) on a Fender. Also it's all beaten up and looks grunge. Billie Joe "stole" the whole idea, so he's not very original himself either. Everyone who knows anything about Green Day also knows that BJ was heavily into Van Halen as a kid. Just to let you know.

And some people don't expect to become famous using a replica Blue or signature Gibson, they just do it cause they love Green Day and enjoy playing. Also, Billie only put the Seymour Duncan humbucker (bridge position) on because his guitar teacher told him to. Just to let you know.
idc Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 uuh btw for all the blue-lovers. there was a new band sticker on it in paris ... right above the Frustrators one ... i couldn't really make it out which band it was - it could be a razorbax one but i'm not sure at all.
PasalacquaBomb Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 ^Would be so awesome if it's a Razorbax sticker. Anybody got a picture of it? I can only find pictures of BJ with other guitars

I noticed that sticker at Wembley too. I couldn't make out what it was. It looked a bit like the Frustators logo had been moved or something.
shit Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 First of all, I find it kind of pathetic people making copies of "Blue" and buying Billie Joe signatures. Where do you imagine going with that? Everyone who knows anything about Green Day also knows that BJ was heavily into Van Halen as a kid. Just to let you know. There are a lot of people who play signature models, or replicas of famous guitars. I see people playing Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughn replicas all the time, and I've seen Rivers Cuomo with an Angus Young signature SG, and a Van Halen Frankenstein copy. John Mayer owns some replicas of famous guitars to. Personally if I was going to go out and play my own music, I wouldn't want to do it on a replica guitar. Because I would be trying to get people to listen to my music, I wouldn't want them to get distracted by the fact that I was playing a replica guitar, or for them to write me off thinking that I was trying to be the guitarist whose guitar mine was based on. But if you want to play a replica guitar, go ahead it's your decision. Signature models are different though, they're mass produced and if I liked the way it sounded I'd play it. I'm not a fan of the Billie Joe LP jr though, for the money I could get so much more. I also have a hard time buying a signature model that the guitarist that it's named for doesn't play himself. And if you think about it most of the people who want it are kids who aren't able to afford it. I've seen kids with a Billie Joe signature guitar, and a shitty little Squier amp which is beyond retarded. Van Halen's guitar isn't a Fender, it's a partscaster made out of aftermarket parts. But maybe you're confusing the words Fender and Stratocaster. There might be a Van Halen influence on how Blue looks, but I don't think it's as much as you think. If you've seen the other bands that were on Lookout, and other East Bay labels that played in the 80's and early 90's they had guitars/basses/drums that were covered in stickers. I think they were more of an influence on how Blue looks, and those tape strap locks that Billie and Mike had. First of all, Billie's Strat isn't a Fender it's a Fernandez. And some people don't expect to become famous using a replica Blue or signature Gibson, they just do it cause they love Green Day and enjoy playing. Also, Billie only put the Seymour Duncan humbucker (bridge position) on because his guitar teacher told him to. Just to let you know. Billie had to change the bridge pickup after his other pickup got messed up at Woodstock, he put the JB in after that. His guitar teacher told him to put in the Lawrence pickup. But Billie was obviously trying to be Dimebag by doing that... Just to let everybody know.
idc Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I noticed that sticker at Wembley too. I couldn't make out what it was. It looked a bit like the Frustators logo had been moved or something. naa the frustrators sticker is def at its real spot ... there is a new for sure ... i'm searching.
Jet Taman Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Fender Dude... Relax, brother. Not everyone has your opinion or wishes to hear yours. We are Green Day fans here. We put up posters of Green Day in our rooms not because we think it's really them, but because we like them. We sing out loud to their lyrics not because we think we are all of a sudden in the band, but because we like the songs. We make Blue replicas not because we're not really musicians or because we can't find our own individuality, but because Blue is an icon unto itself. It has become "part of the band". Guitarists are influenced by other guitarists in the style that they play, in the mechanics of the guitars, and the way they dress, style their hair, decorate their guitar. Nobody "steals" or "rips off" anyone else, they just show their love for fellow musicians by picking up their style along the way. Music has been like this for years. You think "Twist and Shout" by the Beatles was original??? You think Elvis Presley didn't steal music from the black R&B singers? You've got a lot to learn as you finish up your high school years and enter adulthood. I just hope you learn that all musicians are influenced by each other.... Just to let you know
Kilgores Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 I'll edit this post later when i'm back at home to show all the stages of stickering, but here they are in a more eyecatching form. Hi, I'm searched to find your mexican strato, but I'm only find it with 3 single coin. That was about the squier stratos too, How did you put the humbucker on the guitar? I only have to do is to change my pick guard to a new hss one?
bass boy Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 i dunno if it counts but i made a cardboard replica (life sized too)
Rancid punk:LTD Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 so I'm thinking of making my own Blue, and I was wondering what would be better color wise is a squier bulllet or a deluxe closer to Blues color? Oh and how should I beat the shit out of it to make it look better? most of these replicas are too...clean
shit Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 so I'm thinking of making my own Blue, and I was wondering what would be better color wise is a squier bulllet or a deluxe closer to Blues color? Oh and how should I beat the shit out of it to make it look better? most of these replicas are too...clean The current Squier Bullet's with the rosewood fretboards aren't really daphne blue, they're more of a seafoam green. And the Squier deluxe's that I've seen are like a really pale blue. So they're both kind of off. I wouldn't beat the shit out of the body, you can age the hardware and plastic parts though. With the neck you can remove the finish on the fretboard so it's just the wood, then it'll get that nasty color.
Liam Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 so I'm thinking of making my own Blue, and I was wondering what would be better color wise is a squier bulllet or a deluxe closer to Blues color? Oh and how should I beat the shit out of it to make it look better? most of these replicas are too...clean Heres one you can buy for $100. The only difference is the head is a kinda different shape but the neck and body are the right colours. http://www.fretstore.com/detail.aspx?ID=1199

Jet what kinnd of guitars do you use for your Blues you sell people? I don't think it really does because they would have more than one and i doubt they would all have it. Also in one of Jet's pictures in this thread he uses the guitar i suggested.

I'm planning on making a replica myself but don't know where/how to get the stickers/pictures... Thanks to anyone that can help!
