GDM Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Aside from the chorus, there are 3 women singing on this version. Rebecca Naomi Jones sings the first verse, Christina Sajous sings the third verse, and Mary Faber sings "Nobody Likes You." Sorry, I didn't know that Sajous sings the second verse, sounds like Jones to me. And not everyone hears the Nobody Likes You.
heartscollide Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 you realise billie only sings the second verse, and probably a bit of backing vocals. NO. Billie sings the whole thing... Yes, of course I know that!
Metanoia Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 NO. Billie sings the whole thing... Yes, of course I know that! ya of course his female side came through the 1st part
Snorri Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 YES! I just finished learning the whole song on guitar I'm trying to put in in Guitar Pro right now with the guitar, bass, drums, violins, piano and everything Might take a while but I've already put in the guitar, bass, drums and a little bit of violins and piano. I hope this comes out good

HoneyDo666 Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Billie sings in a deep register in this song. What's everyone talking about? This is the deepest we've ever heard him sing. I love the contrast of his voice against the female voices. And I just love his voice in general
J'net Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Sorry, I didn't know that Sajous sings the second verse, sounds like Jones to me. And not everyone hears the Nobody Likes You. I couldn't figure out what you were talking about, Tanya. Then I went back up and realized you had already replied to the question before I did. I think I had quite the advantage, though, having seen the show so many times, so no need to be sorry. In the final version, when Christina sings that verse, she is giving Tunny a sponge bath in his hospital bed, and it's obvious she's falling in love with him. That really cemented her performance of that verse in my mind. When she sings "something inside this heart has died," she holds her hand over his heart and it's a really amazing moment. The look on his face is indescribable - so tortured and forlorn. Anyway, that's why I remembered that it was her. They both have beautiful and somewhat similar voices, but if you listen carefully, I think you can hear the difference. I have to admit, though, the first time I listened to this version, I just assumed it was Rebecca, so it sounded like Rebecca (I was at work, so I couldn't crank it up). Aren't they both just awesome? I love listening to them, and the release of this single is like a special treat for me.
Snorri Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 i did that already and submitted it to ultimate-guitar.com, if you wanna take a look Cool I will, thanks Edit: What's the name of your version on UG ?

Not sure when I saw it that it was obvious that she was falling in love with him, that kinda came out of the blue for me, but I only saw the show twice and I was focused on so many issues when I was watching it. The women are all wonderful in this production. I think besides Vincent, they have the best voices in the cast. Jones is just incredible, and I give big kudos to Alyssha Umphress during "Too Much Too Soon," too. I'll listen to it again (ten time this morning and 20 times yesterday has left me a little wiped out with the song! LOL). I'll listen again tomorrow for the voice differences. The version I heard today had Faber at the end. I absolutely loved her "Dearly Beloved" during Jesus of Suburbia. Man, she nailed it!

I do think the "falling in love" part was made much more obvious in the later shows. I'm not sure if she actually did anything different, but the body language and facial expression was more intense. Totally agree about Alysha Umphress - amazing voice and presence!
Steven Samuels Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 I'm glad people got a kick out of the vid. The first line synced up amazingly well. I fell out of my wheelchair when I saw it. No kidding.
parinaz Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 i don't think they'd be able to make a video since they are in Australia.,
darenmay Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 ^they already have a video for this. when they recorded this, they had cameras rolling.
Kryssi. Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 I finally got to hear the audio last night. It was well worth the wait in my opinion. It's beautiful.
