Foxboro Hot Tubs Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 it's so amazing when you people talk about the musical .. it makes me love the song even more cause I can imagine the musical and the performance of the song pretty damn good. I also wanna see it soo bad.
Katarina. Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Now they just need to release Good Riddance as a single. I would really love that. Or probably any of the other songs. Good Riddance would be awesome, seeing 21 Guns turned out to beautiful. Imagine how TOYL would sound. Ga, I wish I could've gone to the AI musical, I want to know how they performed Letterbomb and Whatsername <3
Salmonator. Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 *breaks the trend* ....I'm not that keen on it :/ Same here. Not being negative, but I didn't like it that much. It'll probobly grow on me as I listen to it more though.
GDM Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I think it's fine if people aren't fond of it. It's ok. No one has to like everything. I had issues with the musical myself, even though I did enjoy it the second night I saw it. It's ok to have differing opinions. I happen to love this version of 21 Guns better than the original. It happens!
tuwlol Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I bet it sounds exponentially better with headphones on.
thenextsexpistol_mak Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 actually most songs do... its actually pretty good, but, somehow it sounds to me like something Queen would do
Salmonator. Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I thought most of it was okay, but the part where they sing the chorus first, was the part I didn't like.
Supermodel*Robot Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I got shivers when Billie's voice came on. I knew he was going to be on it, but it was still unexpected. Ah, breathtaking.
Whatsername1533 Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 What happened to the Letterbomb ending? I know I heard it yesterday then when I went to listen to it today it was gone.
Mar Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Does anyone else get sort of emotional (for lack of a better word) for Billie when they hear this? Like, those are his words, and look how far they've come. I can't imagine he didn't cry at least once when he first heard it in the theatre. I was thinking the same thing the other day. I can't imagine how that must feel to hear your words expressed like this.
lovelyrita Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Hm, I'm not that much delighted as I thought I will be. It sounds to me like church choir or something... I imagined that different. But mabye if I listen to whole song I'll like it more.
Princess Consuela Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Hm, I'm not that much delighted as I thought I will be. It sounds to me like church choir or something... I imagined that different. But mabye if I listen to whole song I'll like it more. You haven't listened to the whole song yet? Here's the link if you missed it http://www.spinner.com/2009/12/03/green-da...-song-premiere/
Red Lights Flash Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 "When your mind breaks the spirit of your soul" That's sung so much better here.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I really like the "You and I--------I" before 'did you try to .. '
drumstick Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Gosh, I can't stop listening to it! So beautiful!
CarmenPunkGirl Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 My fav part it's when they all day: DID YOU?
drumstick Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 My fav part it's when they all day: DID YOU? yeah..it's really beautiful!
simone18 Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 i still don´t understand why they recorded the beginning of letterbomb. i mean, it must have a meaning
valeria carci Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I'm not really fond of musicals or re-recordings but it's ok...
The Disappearing Boy Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 i still don´t understand why they recorded the beginning of letterbomb. i mean, it must have a meaning well, it is an american idiot musical. and that line was a recurring theme in that album.
J'net Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 i still don´t understand why they recorded the beginning of letterbomb. i mean, it must have a meaning In the musical, Letterbomb is the song that immediately follows 21 Guns. It was almost like the Nobody Likes You part was the end of one song and the beginning of another. I think they did this specifically because this version of the song was tied to the musical and it made sense as part of the musical. However, I think there's a lot more subtext there - I had typed a long paragraph here, but I don't really have time to do it justice right now, so I'll try to come back to this later ... parts of it are in the recap of the final show that I will post someday if my computer will stop crashing every time I use Word :verymad:.
Eirik Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 ^Letterbomb is also the song after 21 Guns in the musical. EDIT: Damn you, J'net.
