Yeah it does, but I think it uses another key at some point as well. The beginning is in one key, then Billie sings in the original key then it changes to G for the last chorus. I think. I'm confusing myself

yeah thats what i mean. most of the song is in F, but the last chorus(es) appear to be in G :)

Well mine must be better than yours :P

Well I mean it's essentially the same thing, but I'd say it uses a minor scale rather than the major. Actually... damn I don't know now, I'm awful at telling major or minor

^Yeah, that's correct. Some musical technical errors, but nothing major. :)

Well, there's really no way of actually telling, I think. Except just, you know, guessing. :P

Well, there's one way, listening to the very last note in the song, but it's an E, so that doesn't exactly help. But as the first chord is Dm, I think that'd be the safest bet. But then again, the first note in the song is an F... Billie's an arse.

Does anyone else get sort of emotional (for lack of a better word) for Billie when they hear this? Like, those are his words, and look how far they've come. I can't imagine he didn't cry at least once when he first heard it in the theatre.

Okay thanks :) I'll ingnore the "musical technical errors" since they don't disturb me :D

I bet he did. I can't imagine how he felt first time he saw this musical.

If the song uses a minor scale then it's in Dm. If it uses a major scale it's F. I'm just useless at telling what kind of scale a song uses, hence why I fail at music theory! I'm pretty sure it's major actually now that I think about it, which would make it F. It has nothing to do with the first/last chord/note or which is used more.

Yeah, exactly. He must be at least slightly amazed by the whole thing.

Yes, I know. :P But it's common to use the key the song is as the first/last note. :)

We who went saw him cry during the show on several occasions. You get the same feeling when you hear Whatshername and WMUWSE. 21 Guns is a really emotional part of the show too. Whatshername is questioning her relationship with Johnny, Johnny is questioning his drug addiction, Tunny is questioning his decision to join the Army, and Will is just questioning his life in general.

Absolutely! I feel so proud for him. At the first preview performance, I got teary during the song American Idiot - well you know, it's a very sad song . But really, it was just feeling so overcome with emotion thinking about, as you say, "how far they've come."

Yes, that exactly, I cried when he started singing the first time I heard it.

Me too!, whenI first saw the musical, American Idiot started and a knot started forming in my throat, and suddendly got teary too. I was like "What the hell, in American Idiot? you couldn't even wait for Jesus of Suburbia to start weeping."

These guys are something else...

Now they just need to release Good Riddance as a single. I would really love that. Or probably any of the other songs.
