farley drexel hatcher Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 What I am loving is the contrast between the female vocals which are clearly theatrical and those of Billie's, and the fact it actually works.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 What I am loving is the contrast between the female vocals which are clearly theatrical and those of Billie's, and the fact it actually works. I know right?
Abstractication Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Some of those harmonies sent chills down my spine. I didn't hear the "Nobody Likes You" part though. :/ EDIT: I just heard it the second time I played it. Weird.
Nova-Caine Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 interesting...i find the depth of having the chorus and orchestration so additive to the song. of course i adore the billie joe original song but the way this is arranged makes it an entirely new and different song to me. i am so blown away and i now cannot even comprehend what the uniqueness of AI show experience is like. Me too I love being given a different version and interpretation of a song, the contrast is so astounding, its so powerful.
idc Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 i reeeally love this it's awesome to hear the song sung by, well not-billie xD. and the background choir in the end is amazing. i little miss the acoustic guitar in the beginning, but all in all its really amazing. <3
elisa Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 beautiful. just beautiful. can't wait to buy it from itunes.
Rosie May Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I'm not mad about it actually, it's weird, I thought I'd like it more than I do. It's good but, some of it's a bit cringy, I think the "did you" "when you" bits are pretty awful, without that it would have been better. And they cut out the guitar solo! That's my favourite part of that song! Where is the version without "nobody likes you" at the end?
Steven Samuels Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Holy shit was that beautiful...And I'm American and looking for "Nobody Likes You". Don't hear it yet...
justcause Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I wish I had been able to see the musical as I am sure the directors interpretation and how it fits into the musical would make this arrangement all the more clear, 21 Guns has many levels and I have had conversations with people and realise that it means so many different things to people, I don't think it's a song you can pigeon hole tbh. I can't wait to see the musical if they ever bring it to the UK Fair enough in terms of pigeon-holing the song - it means what it means to everyone who hears it. Standing back from that, I just don't like how this sounds - it feels like it's had everything but the kitchen sink thrown at it.
Fuzz Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 It sounds pretty incredible. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm happy with the way it sounds. Just a reminder to everyone that we can't have any downloads of the new material posted on GDA. Don't want Warner legal after us for distributing a song that comes out in a couple weeks.
Princess Consuela Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 What I am loving is the contrast between the female vocals which are clearly theatrical and those of Billie's, and the fact it actually works. So it's Billie? I was wondering if it was him or someone awfully sounding like him
Tre_Gina Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I have just listened to it on this site - http://www.spinnermusic.co.uk/2009/12/03/g...-song-premiere/ it's awesome, so powerful. I really hope the musical comes to England. x
Abbey. Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 is this sung between whatshername and johnny? fuk me this is gorgeous!
Abstractication Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I heard the "Nobody Likes You" part twice with http://www.spinner.com/2009/12/03/green-da...-song-premiere/
incendiary girl Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 No, I hear it. I don't know what's going on with other people. Though I did hear it once w/o it. Who knows? Weird! You're not crazy. I've heard it every time. We're not talking about how many times that's been though. A lot.
Sara. Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Well, Green Day loves the rest of the world so much that they don't want them to hear the "Nobody likes you". I gotta hear the whole version sometime!
Nova-Caine Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 So it's Billie? I was wondering if it was him or someone awfully sounding like him I think Billie is singing in the chorus, its a very familiar sounding voice coming through in there

I don't feel at all like its a bunch of stuff thrown together. I think Billie is singing in the chorus, its a very familiar sounding voice coming through in there its definitely him.

Ha, I kinda get that, I dunno, I feel like I should like it because it's a mixture of green day and really good musical singers, but I don't, maybe it'll grow on me. I really miss the guitar solo, without it the bridge just builds up to nothing.

Sarah.Scumbag Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 What I am loving is the contrast between the female vocals which are clearly theatrical and those of Billie's, and the fact it actually works. Yeah, same here. : )
ANJI Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I heard the "Nobody Likes You" part twice with http://www.spinner.com/2009/12/03/green-da...-song-premiere/ Does ur one have spinnermusic.com at the address bar or .co.uk? cos my one redirects to the uk site, I think that's why i cant hear it :/

I love the build up in the Choir for me that was the perfect climax for the arrangement, I didn't even notice the guitar solo was missing that's how entranced I was with it, but I do love musicals
Allie90 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I think Billie is singing in the chorus, its a very familiar sounding voice coming through in there Is it really Billie singing??? I think that it's not him. Probably somebody from the cast, I'm unsure though....
