mrs. billie joe Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 ICWUDT, J'net. Redundant is a great song. It's beautiful. And I love the music video, as well.
Freeny Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I love the lyrics to this song, but I just never really got into the song. Dunno why, maybe I'll "discover" it sometime.Btw I loved the redundant-ness in the first post hhahahah XD
Abbey. Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I love this video of it from The 10 Spot:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duuW3bUD1R0what a video! now i have found my way to this www.greendayvideos.com website...i might be stuck here for a while! holy cr@p the stuff on here!
rinu Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Aw,I don't listen this song often but it's such a nice song.
Welshy Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 i love this tune, i love this video.but my favorite version is from mtvlive....the acoustic one...good choice.Thats my fave version too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwTKWLD-jBM
green_melly Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 that song is probably in my top 3 of favorite Green Day songs
Juliette Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 First time I've seen the video though. It's clever.
Bastard of 1967 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Thats my fave version too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwTKWLD-jBMDamn that's a nice one. Billie and Mike acoustic without Tre this time...you don't get that combo very often and it's a real treat to hear.
Mari91 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 The woman screaming at the end is the *perfect* way to cap off the video IMO. The song is all about the inevitable repetition and monotony that eventually creeps into any long-term relationship and asks how that can be broken. The video layers more and more elements on top of a repeating pattern as it goes along, until Billie gets sick of it, picks up the newspaper and walks off with it as his metaphor for breaking that pattern, and the woman is left on her own -- she can't deal with the sudden change-up in routine and she just lets loose. Love it, love it, love it. Or was I just being redundant there? the screaming is just ear piercing but it definitely makes sense in the videoThats my fave version too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwTKWLD-jBM
ANJI Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Love the song, the words and the guitar solo!!
Agija Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I love this song and the video. It's amazing, and I can really watch it over and over and over again. Even my mum likes it, even though she's not a big Green Day fan.
SpiffyGiffy Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Basically, to say I love Redundant is not enough, so one could depict that as to mean that I am, to use a phrase: "lost for words"Lame, no?Great song though
Clayish Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 One of the best from Nimrod, my least favorite album.Great lyrics, and awesome chorus.
Mar Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Thats my fave version too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwTKWLD-jBMThat is pretty cool!
BuriedInAHole Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 This song fits perfectly to my life..
Supermodel*Robot Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 AH, I'm dumb and thought your computer had messed up. This song actually taught me the definition of redundant. I used it awhile ago & this guy was like "huh?" & I was like DUDE LISTEN TO GREEN DAY. THEY ENHANCE VOCABULARY. I really like the feel of this song. It describes perfectly how I feel about life & the meaningless redundant things I have to do everyday.
1000SlappyHours Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Love this song. And it's not a song i play often so i've never gotten sick of it (unlike the rest of Nimrod).
cherylr Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Love the song. Love the instrumentation. Love the lyrics - they perfectly capture what it's like to be in a marriage. "Went full circle 'til I'm nauseous." I that line. BJA does a lot of plays on cliches in his lyrics and I always think they're funny.
