pretty much it's like an ulcer bleeding in my brain fro mrestless heart syndrome and my eyes feel like they're gonna bleed, dryed up and bulging out my skull from brai nstew..... so disgusting XD

I love it when he gets all gross with his lyrics.

I don't like that part on Before the Lobotomy that goes 'we're lost like refugees'

But other than that I love all GD lyrics :D

Yeah that part never sounded right to me. I get the idea of it, but it's a bit too literal of a comparison.

Oh I have two more:

'So take me to emergency'

'So send me to the pharmacy'

"1000 hours" as a whole - ridiculously sappy, never fails to make me cringe.

I have nothing against disgusting lyrics, they serve a purpose.

And what is so bad about "I got a really bad disease"? I don't get it...

I think for me the verse's in Christian's Inferno. I like the song as a whole though-the chorus line is so catchy!

Almost all of the posts in this thread have killed me!

I can't really think of a lyric I don't like. Like Heather said, it's way easier to pick your favorite parts. If I think of one, I'll post it.

this

Why is everyone hating on RHS and Christian's Inferno?

This to everything.

I like 1,000 Hours, but it's probably one of my least listened to GD songs, just because of the cheesiness.

^I love RHS! Also, all the early songs are so cute and adorable and I personally don't find them embarassing to listen too, or have particularly terrible lyrics. Again though I don't believe that there is a terrible GD song or one that is lyrically crap! :D

 i think billie himself said this was hi least favorite green day song, for those reasons!

Aw, I don't care that 1000 Hours has crappy lyrics, it's so sweet.

i don't find any lyrics bad or lame, cos it obviously meant something to green day/billie when they wrote it. like, some of the lyrics people are saying are crap are simple, straight to the point lyrics. Not everything can be a poetical metaphor. Lol

theres no lines i dont like

For some reason, I'm laughing about this xDDDD

i'll go with the 'ive got a really bad disease' line too.

I LOVE Restless Heart Syndrome. My favorite off 21CBD, but this line drives me crazy

and im glad to see im not the only one who isnt a fan of Christians Inferno

All Green Day's lyrics reflect where Billie was at different points at his life, so I'm in no position to "nit pick" at certain lines. I feel Billie is an amazing songwriter and his ever-growing talent for writing is shown with every new album.

I wouldn't say the lyrics to 1000 Hours are bad, because c'mon guys - they were written by a teenager. If Billie wrote them now, as a 37 year old, would they seem pretty bad? Yeah, but when he wrote that song he was just at the start of his life as a musician/songwriter. I don't think it's fair to judge - I look back at things I've written a few years ago compared to now, and I see I'm at a completely different place in my life and my writing has progressed. As Billie has grown up, so have his lyrics. The brilliant thing is it's insanely easy to follow his life story just by his lyrics - you can literally visualize where he was in his life as he wrote each song over the years - that to me is the mark of a great songwriter.

The "I could really care less" in JOS kills me. The proper phrase is "I couldn't care less."

Unless I'm missing something in relation to the song...but it bugs me every time.

yeah but it's common for people to say "I could care less" despite it not making perfect logical sense.

eh i dont think i have a least favorite.

I don't have a least favourite GD lyric. I just see 1,000 Hours as being a really sweet song that Billie wrote when he was what, 15 or 16? But yeah, I'd have to say the "We're lost like Refugees" bit in Before the Lobotomy is one of the most annoying moments in a Green Day song.

"I met her on the eve of my birthday. " From Haushinka.

I just don't like it!!! :pinch:

"I am the son of a bitch and Edgar Allen Poe"

from St Jimmy

I don't get it

why does it say Edgar Allen Poe just randomly :S

so i'm the only one who thinks is ok? xD

No, your not alone. I'm with you.

That song is underrated :D

The copy editor in me frowns upon "And I could really care less" in "City of the Damned", because it's supposed to be "couldn't care less"; the lyric implies that he cares somewhat, because there is the possibility of him caring less.

EDIT: This post is why I need to read both pages of a thread before replying, since I missed that you already pointed this out!
