Guest Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 writers block, help me lol Also I think if scumbag were written today it'd be called douchebag no one really says scumbag anymore Everyone says scumbag over this side of the Atlantic, no one says douchebag. Considering Billie was so heavily influenced by British bands, the use of scumbag makes a lot of sense.
X-Kid80 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Humdrum? What the fuck is that? Again, unique song names being turned into boring names. Sorry, I just wanted to try to propose something, and by 'humdrum' I mean the routine ^^
Todd Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 i'm so impressed by the creativity in this thread wowLol Baby Eyes - Go Go Go As of this week, I finally actually like Baby Eyes. And I think Baby Eyes is a great title. Reminds me of the movie Manhunter.
Todd Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Sorry, I just wanted to try to propose something, and by 'humdrum' I mean the routine ^^ ah, okay. Sorry . I have no idea what humdrum is Worry Rock - No Pride pt. 2
GreenCard Yellow Day Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Castaway- Lost Poprocks and Coke- Be There For You
Todd Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Castaway- Lost Poprocks and Coke- Be There For You How is Castaway Lost? It's more of- I don't know where I am, but I'm in an amazing, better place- when lost is "i don't know where I am, but I want to go home"
UK-bradders Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 I hope you realize F.O.D. stands for Fuck Off and Die lol. Yes I do, i just think it would have been cooler if it was called that. Also i think deadbeat holiday should be called Decay Celebration
Carrot Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Governator - Hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey
The Forgotten Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 The Judge's daughter - The female offspring of the public official appointed chancellor to decide cases in a court of law
WhiteTim Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Yes I do, i just think it would have been cooler if it was called that. Also i think deadbeat holiday should be called Decay Celebration May would be cool but having it as F.O.D. may it easier for them to avoid the PA sticker and was able to be sold in all stores in the U.S. which in America in the early 90's censorship was a big issue and alot of stores wouldnt carry albums with uncensored cuss words on the cover so that'd most likely have hurt the sales
The Forgotten Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Wake me up when september ends - Remove me from my naturally periodic state of rest on the 30th day of the 9th month of the year
spark in the night Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Rusty James --> Last Gang in Town I like the name Rusty James, but I think it should be the name of another song. Last Gang in Town is a better fit. Waiting --> Closer I think the song's meaning focuses more on how close you are to something rather than just waiting for it to come. Paper Lanterns --> Crush I love the title, but it doesn't mean anything lol. I like the word Crush because I think it sums up the entire song in a nutshell.
Léo_Desensitized Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Christian's Inferno = Christian's in fuego Rusty James = Soda Pop Curtis (or Last gang in town) Fuck time = It's Fuck time
WhiteTim Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Fuck time = It's Fuck time Funny it was It's Fuck Time during recording sessions but come time for booklet it got to just fuck time
StuckWithInsomnia Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Do Da Da - Stuck With Me Stuck With Me - I'm Not Alright
DookieLukie Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Eh I don't really like the titles of the Green Day songs people are coming up with. I feel like the more abstract and powerful the song title, the better. Like...changing an song name like Longview, although abstract and unrelated to the song, to say something like "Boredom" may capture the meaning of the song, but it lacks originality.

Paper Lanterns --> Crush I love the title, but it doesn't mean anything lol. I like the word Crush because I think it sums up the entire song in a nutshell. No, Crush sounds like some kind of pussy-pop song, no offense. Remember, Green Day was trying to stay close to the punk community in 1990. I think the name Paper Lanterns attracts listeners. Paper Lanterns- what's this song about? Crush- ah, it's just another teenage drama song. Funny it was It's Fuck Time during recording sessions but come time for booklet it got to just fuck time I'm surprised, I made a big deal about people calling it It's Fuck Time, but nowadays, I kinda like that title better. So my apologies to anyone that I bugged over that
Carrot Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Do Da Da - Stuck With Me Stuck With Me - I'm Not Alright i wonder they originally chose Do Da Da for that song and not I'm Not Alright. i heard somewhere that they couldn't come up with a name for so they just chose Do Da Da
PanicAttack! Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Humdrum? What the fuck is that? Again, unique song names being turned into boring names. I agree that they're boring titles, all except that I kind of like the sound of "Humdrum" as the title of Redundant. It would change the way you percieve the song a little bit, but if you think about it "Redundant" is kind of a redundant title, it's just a word that's mentioened in the chorus, it's not even that emphasized. It also means kind of the same as redundant, it's something repetative or dull. Rusty James - Last Gang in town Let yourself go - SHUT THE FUCK UP I agree with "Rusty James", even though it's a good and original title it would've served the song better to just go with the obvious. It would've had potential as "Last Gang In Town" - lead single off of iUno!. It's also pretty confusing that the title is "Rusty James" when there is a lyric that says "rusty chains", but to titular line. I don't agree with the second one though, "Let Yourself Go" is repeated so much that is has to be the title to not seem stupid.
PanicAttack! Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 i wonder they originally chose Do Da Da for that song and not I'm Not Alright. i heard somewhere that they couldn't come up with a name for so they just chose Do Da Da Are you sure though? I've heard that the titles of what is now known as "Stuck With Me" and "Do Da Da" got mixed up, and "Stuck With Me" got its title and "Do Da Da" got some other unknown title, but it was only because they liked the new title for "Stuck With Me" and it made some sense in context to the song, that they kept it that way, but then the original "Stuck With Me" (Do Da Da) needed a title, but they couldn't come up with one, so they just went with "Do Da Da" because "Stuck With Me" was taken and it was the only title that really would make any sense. I'm sorry if what I just wrote is confusing
Dirntbag Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 I'd rename 21 Guns 'None Of Your Business' so that when people asked other people what their favourite Green Day song is, a lot would respond with sass.
