ParadoxAndPlaid Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I really wish "Hold On" had a diffrent name, it's too obvious, and other (awful) songs share the name. Maybe Break of Day, anything....
bjrules Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I really wish "Hold On" had a diffrent name, it's too obvious, and other (awful) songs share the name. Maybe Break of Day, anything....Break of Day sounds way better than "Hold On" I can't really think of any that I would change, they're all really good names, even the really random names go with the songs.
heartscollide Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 East Jesus Nowhere :/ - March Of The Dogs Aww I like the kookiness of Do Da Da and Stuck With Me being mixed up. That's a Sum 41 song, I'm glad they changed it. EJN is so fitting.
Sharmellow Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Nope, I wouldn't change any of their song titles. Although, if I had to pick, I'd change Letterbomb to Leaving You Tonight and perhaps Warning to Live Without Warning.
haushinkaitlyn Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Madness! March Of The Dogs was the best name ever! Made me think of the dogs taking over the world on the Dookie cover. It jumps right out at you and it's really distinctive, everyone was talking about it as soon as they heard the name. East Jesus Nowhere is so wishy washy and indistinct in comparison, and the fact it's from a crappy film for teenagers makes it even worse I love you.Aaaand... I'd love it if Insomnias was called Jesus Christ Supermarket instead. It'd be fuckin awesome. XDThey were going to name Nimrod "Jesus Christ Supermarket", not Insomniac.
Sharmellow Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 They were going to name Nimrod "Jesus Christ Supermarket", not Insomniac. No, I'm positive that it was Insomniac. I can't remember which interview it was, but it's Insomniac not Nimrod.
haushinkaitlyn Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 No, it was for Nimrod. I distinctly remember listening to a radio program when the album came out and they were talking about other options for album titles and one was Jesus Christ Supermarket. I'm not trying to argue, but this is what I remember.
heartscollide Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 No, I'm positive that it was Insomniac. I can't remember which interview it was, but it's Insomniac not Nimrod. They were gonna name Insomniac 'God Told Me To Skin You Alive'
Emmalee Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I really don't see why so many people seem to want to change song names to just the most repeated string of words in a song or chorus. Sorry, but they all just sound kinda lame. I agree with those above who say they wouldn't change any song titles. Personally, I think that the title that a band or songwriter gives to a song that they themselves created is as much a part of the song and their work and creativity as any lyric or melody or whatever within it. I don't really get the point of discussing why we'd change them. To me it's almost like saying "what Green Day lyric would you change" or "what guitar melody etc etc should be different?" I dunno, it just doesn't feel right/rant. I hope that didn't come across as bitchy or anythingAs for the song titles that Green Day themselves changed, I'm on the East Jesus Nowhere side haha, it's one of my favourite song titles from 21CB, and I think it fits the song well. I think Murder City sounds cooler than Desperate, and I've always loved the little mixed up name thing going on between Stuck With Me and Do Da Da
Punx89 Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 restless heart syndrome--------->You are your own worst enemy

I distinctly remember listening to a radio program when the album came out and they were talking about other options for album titles and one was Jesus Christ Supermarket. I'm not trying to argue, but this is what I remember.oh right! i knew it was either insomniac or nimrod, but yeah. haha. glad i got that cleared out x)
dolce Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I think the songs all have fine titles. I honestly like them as-is.One I think that could stand to be shortened is "Give Me Novacaine" to just "Novacaine". Since that's what we all refer to it as anyway!Oh, and, it's not a song, but - what's up with the new live EP being called "Last Night on Earth" when that song isn't even featured? Change it!!!!!
DarrenDookie Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 No, I'm positive that it was Insomniac. I can't remember which interview it was, but it's Insomniac not Nimrod. Ya it was Insomniac. What a name that wouldve been They were gonna name Insomniac 'God Told Me To Skin You Alive'Thats the name of the artwork for Insomniac
BraedonHorbacio Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I'd rename Dry ice though I have no idea how I'd call it.Everything's just better than Dry IceBillie Joe wanted to call it Whupped
Sarahnade. Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I like Murder City a lot better than Desperate. Murder City is just so awesome and unique. Desperate is just..boring?I was soooo mad when Green Day changed March of the Dogs to East Jesus Nowhere. I would NOT call it EJN because I was so mad, I loved that title. But, now I've embraced it, and I love EJN now. I can't imagine it as March of the Dogs. EJN is cool, and works better with the song, although March of the Dogs is still cool.If I think I've one, I'll post of it, but as of now, I can't think of any.Last Night on Earth - All My LoveI agree with this one.

Now I've at least accepted that name, but I don't like it as much as March Of the Dogs (:

Deadbeat Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Viva La Gloria - Viva La Nyxie But that's just my opinion
Brian Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Definitely East Jesus Nowhere to March of the Dogs.
TAR Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 I would change Insomniac to Jesus Christ Supermarket.
Freeny Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 BTW, I don't get why Green Day is so all about america? I understand it when that's where they come from and stuff, but you don't see bands and artists from any other country doing that stuff. In some songs it's okay, like American Idiot but why Last Of The American Girls? Why not Last Of The Girls? haha. I don't know it just bugs me.
