Kate Austen Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 well i guess in LA whenever something cool happens people must be there. the same thing happened with a thom yorke concert i think random people just bought tickets and didnt even know who the hell thom yorke was.Sweet you were there too? I got into the Echoplex show with Thom Yorke (only holds 400 people). Shit was insane! I was standing next to Ellen Page for some time. I also went to the Orpheum show night 1 (sunday).I hate when people aren't joining in at the shows, in London I had one girl squeeze in next to me at the barrier (and she hadn't been in the first batch of people to be let in) and all she did was take photos all night, she barely even sang. Was Billie actually unwell or are people just assuming that? There is NO confirmation from the band or friends of the band that Billie was ever sick. I think it's purely speculation. On the AMAs Billie's voice sounded pretty bad (sounded like he had the cold/ the flu). However, he was perfect all night for the New Years Eve show. IMO I think Billie was just tired and had a shitty sound set up at the AMAs, because like I said - his vocals sounded great all night for the 1 hour 20 min show. But it's possible he is sick, didn't sound like it last night tho.

Mar Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I'm glad that everyone's saying he sounded great (I'm in class, I'll watch the videos later tonight)! This should be a great show on New Years Eve...well, at least what they show us!
karma1215 Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Yeah they'll show it on New Years but we'll get the censored version.... the G rated version which would totally suck ass
Kate Austen Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 nah i wasnt there i wish though :/ but i saw videos and people were having fucking conversations during the songs. It actually wasn't as bad as the boots made it seem. The vibe at the Echo show was pretty chill, and for the most part people were into it. The people that were recording the show happened to be next to talkers, but where I was at (near the barricade) - no one was talking. So I guess it just depended on where you were standing. I was dancing my ass off all night. Def one of the best shows I've ever been to. But Thom Yorke is my idol, so getting to see him in a fucking bar basically, was a dream come true. Thom is also pretty short tempered, and some of his solo stuff is just piano. Whereas most of Radioheads stuff is really loud and they play on a big stage. That is why you don't hear him chewing people out. But at a solo show, he is more likely to tell someone to "fuck off" if they are talking during a slow song. Hahah. But yeah I 100% agree with you on LA having the worst audiences ever. I can't tell you how many times I will see rich people get front row - and all they will do is text or talk on their cell phone. Or they don't know any songs except the singles. I always try to avoid LA and go to SD shows if I can.
leacalifornia Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 It was great to meet you too! you're a very cool person, and thank you for saving us a spot in line. I will send you the pictures of us later. oh yes!! send me those too!

I would've come back if I knew about security wanting to place me back, then you wouldn't of had that annoying cow next to you.
drumstick Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 OMG!!!! what an amzing setlist!!! fuck Yeah, I'd also like to know where people got the info about the supposed secret cancelled show and stuff. I hate when people say vague stuff, trying to make themselves sound like they're in the know or whatever! Gotta say, if it's true - I'm glad they made that decision! They need any rest they can get.For you guys talking about Serena: Watch this video on her homepage for the lulz: http://www.serenawilliams.com/Also, I was doing some random searching about her because of this and she says she has a baby blue guitar cuz of Blue. Awwww!hahathat was on Vienna concert! loool
Savannah Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 oh yes!! send me those too! did you see my review and pictures I put on the forum?
farley drexel hatcher Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Was that after I got pulled up? I would've come back if I knew about security wanting to place me back, then you wouldn't of had that annoying cow next to you.Yeah it was, I guess that gave just enough space for someone else to squeeze in because she got in on the left of me, between me and Hannah XD It took my hand off for one moment and she got in. After that I listened to what J'net told me and kept both hands on the barrier the rest of the show.Didn't you go back to your space though? I swear I saw you back there after, but when I looked again you were gone. Security generally like to put people back from where they got them, at least at GD shows XD
gabbag Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 now where is that wall again im feeling the need to bang my head a few times. They played all of Favorite Son, all of Pulling Teeth, the majority of Sassafras Roots, a verse and chorus of Having a Blast and bits and pieces, (with incorrect lyrics), of Nice Guys Finish Last. The most amazing part about it was Sassafras Roots and Favorite Son have NEVER, EVER, been played before live. History in the making. Not to mention the GD show wasn't even all requests. The band actually chose to play all those songs, and finally decided for once to leave out brainstew, jaded, hitchin a ride, she, basket case, longview, etc.Truly unforgettable. Please let us all know if you find videos. Literally only 1% of the 400 people who got to hear soundcheck knew ANY of the songs, not even St. Jimmy!Ughh I am so fucking jealousIf they're going to pretend it's happening live they might 'swich back to green day in LA' every now and then, so maybe we'll get more of the concert than you thinkIf they pretend it is live I am going to scream at the tv, especially if they pretend it is live from NYGreen Day needs to do another leg for the U.S., or I will kill them.Yes they do! There was a behind the scenes interview with them from the AMAs and they said something about they we will see them touring next year, so I am trying to think positive and assume that since it was the AMAs they sould be in AMERICAanywayy I am ridiculously jealous and I hate how everyone gets excited when they play songs they ALWAYS play but when they play awesome songs that they NEVER play the crowd isnt as excited!
valentinesandcigs Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 holiday and murder city http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlkTSaYjVWk

The Disappearing Boy Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 This guy has got a few videos.Part of disappearing boy
lizziebix Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 The wait to get in was exhausting. The 1iota people had no idea what was going on, but they were nice enough to walk up and down the line to give us updates once in a while. It was actually my friend's first concert ever. We were determined that she definitely had to see Green Day first so we were pretty much hell bent on getting there. We ended right next to the stage on Billie Joe's side. The bouncer there was an asshole. Someone threw up in the pit really close to us and he just stood there and wouldn't help at all. We were all really upset cuz people can slip in it when things get crazy. There were people freaking out right next to the puke for almost thirty minutes before help came. And then a girl fainted during the St. Jimmy moshing and he did nothing. The sound quality was amazing especially the drums. The sound check was hilarious. Billie was like "I can hear you!" over the loudspeakers and everyone went crazy. I was surprised he didn't end with Good Riddance but I'm guessing NBC's gonna show the concert footage and then have Billie Joe play Good Riddance live.Don't know if you know this for a fact or it's just speculation, but that would certainly be an great way to end the show.
elanorelle72 Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Well it doesn't help that it was free. Think about it, LA + Free show = lots of fan girls with nothing better to do then go to see Billie's sexyness. I agree tho, some of the people that attend these things are ridiculous. I was standing next to some people who told me this guy told them "I think Green Day is coming out with a new album or something."I'm just like..really..lol the fuck!?gahhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Clayish Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 OMFG!Christie Road is so good live.It was amazing in Hartford.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-s3Zvg0OEaE...feature=relatedQuality video of WTP and Holden Caulfield!
Guest Shangri-La Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Oh so someone did throw up? I was hearing that, but I didn't know for sure. Really gross to have puke on the floor, but probably harmless since there's too many people walled around to really fall. Still suck though. XD I didn't know someone fainted. Did they pull her out eventually? What happened to her?It happened before the show started. someone in between us on the barricade. Surprisingly enough it wasn't me. ima be suuper embarrassed to see my drunk ass on the teevee. holy shit.
elanorelle72 Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Don't know if you know this for a fact or it's just speculation, but that would certainly be an great way to end the show.OMFG OMFG!would he be playing it from NYC?because I have like a huge vision right now ....HOLY SHITis anyone thinking what i'm thinking?
Bohemian+Scandal Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 It happened before the show started. someone in between us on the barricade. Surprisingly enough it wasn't me. ima be suuper embarrassed to see my drunk ass on the teevee. holy shit.I know right. I kept thinking about your paranoia about puking in the pit. Haha. We're all going to look retarded when this airs. Lol.
