I read something about big screens, does anyone have any idea about this? I mean it would suck to drive out there and only get to see big screens and not them. On the other hand, it would be so worth it to go there if you really get to see them even, if you are in the very last row...

Well Weezer did the same thing through the same site.

It was a free mini concert for the Jimmy Kimmel show, it was a little over a 1,000 person show. But they told you whether or not you got the tickerts right away.

So I believe if they're pending then, you still have a chance.

I'll be very surprised if this is a whole show. I'm assuming it will be a mini concert also. But hey! I'm not complaining, any FREE Green Day show is worth seeing!

Free show in '94 that had to be shut down because so many more people than expected showed up.....I would have killed to have been there.

I'm just wondering -- if this free concert is through the Carson Daly website, and they are scheduled to perform on his NYE special from Times Square, and we've already heard that they won't be PHYSICALLY in Times Square -- could this be a pre-recorded gig that will air on NYE? It would make sense, and seriously, I wouldn't blame them one bit if they wanted to spend the holidays with friends and family, especially as they will have just wrapped up the Oz part of their tour and will be getting ready for the Japan stretch.

Thats what i was thinking might happen. I thought this might just be a big screen where everyone watches the performance on a big screen. Might have to call the place that is holding the event. They open around 12pm . Just to see whats up.

I have a silly theory that maybe they'll stay in the Far East and record something in China like Billie always says he wants to do. It would be hard to go to Australia in the middle of December and then back again to Japan in the middle of January. haha.. it's a silly theory, so no one run with it.

But its just not the same. I'm not going to fly home 5 days early so that I can sit in the back and listen to something I'll be too short to see. I can do that in my own damn room.

Has anybody heard anything about when the tickets will be awarded? This waiting stuff is driving me crazy. At least with ticket sales you know you're getting a ticket if a spot is available. We have no idea what's open to whom.

I think we'll be pretty good with tickets. I mean, you'd really have to be paying attention to know about this and where to get tickets for it. So if we're just competing against each other, then we should be fine. Considering this is also during school hours and such, there may not be too many of us going.
