Kryssi. Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Shit, I wish I had the money to go!!!Anyone willing to lend me £500 for immediate passport renewal and flight?
MusicalDeviant Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 I've been to Los Angeles once. That's when I flew out here.My first impression: How do people deal with this fucking traffic?Plus there's going to be a Clippers game two hours before the concert. We'll see how that goes. lol.Well you plan your day around the assumption that if you take the freeway (or even most surface streets) you'll likely get caught in traffic. That's how we deal with it. Most of the time I just sit in my car and listen to music to make my tension go away. Though that often isn't enough and I end up shouting profanities at fellow drivers. Road rage is real.

MusicalDeviant Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Won two tickets last night so fuckin happy So whos all goin' here and what time are you planning on showing up to wait?Well I live there. But having my own car will force me to find parking. I was thinking of getting there really really early, but without available parking that may be harder to do.
94th nimrod. Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 That's awesome! But sadly, I'd never be able to attend this show... :/ It's times like this that I hate being 15 and not having money to take a plane to CA. THIS
davegrohllover Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Oh but it will be the best 5 hour drive ever!Yes it will be, Can't wait! Oh yes we should do a meet up i'm down with that. I'm so happy so many people from the boards are going.

But i'm driving in for the show driving back the same night. Probably get home around 5am, LOL. I know when i was looking for hotel prices they were alot. Between 150 to 170 a night. Thats why i am driving right home can't afford to stay.

The hotels i'm looking at at the moment are ranging from $70-$120, which isnt too bad, but i'd rather not spend it if i can help it. It all depends if someone on here would be generous enough to give me a place to crash!
davegrohllover Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Has anyone ever been to the Nokia theatre before? I was wondering if they charge you to park there.
Kate Austen Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Wait, where will we be standing? Does this mean that its a first-come/first-serve deal for getting up close to the stage? Or will they tell us later what part of the venue we're assigned to?If we want any chance of getting to the front, we should probably get there the night before, or like 4 in the morning. Where will we park though? I don't think any of the street lots will be open that early. Not sure if this was answered...but, this isn't in the venue. It's actually outside Nokia (hence why it says Plaza). Here is where the show will be.Also, tickets are still available for this. Really easy to get. The only thing that confused me was the "invite" thing - and the OAKLAND comment thing. I've had friends that did NOT do that, but still got confirmed for 2 tickets. Probably wishful thinking - but I hope this is a front to back 21st Century Breakdown show. This free gig just came out of no where - so here is wishing for the best.

Also found out parking is between $10 to $25....
Kate Austen Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 The capacity for the Plaza is only 2,000 people - and that is assuming they choose to fill it up. So relatively speaking, this is going to be a pretty small show.

Because on the e-ticket they said that they are expecting thousands of people to turn up and that it's going to be a long day because they are going to have to process queues of people to get in. I'm confuzzled!

Because on the e-ticket they said that they are expecting thousands of people to turn up and that it's going to be a long day because they are going to have to process queues of people to get in. I'm confuzzled!Well two thousand people is A LOT of people - in that small of a plaza. So I imagine it would take a long time, especially if they are diligent in checking all the IDs of everyone (upon entry). Altho something has me worried about this. You can still get tickets today - and the place only holds 2,000. Hrmm either not a lot of people applied for this, or they are randomly releasing tickets. Also something troubling (I just noticed this on the E-Ticket at the bottom):E-tickets are in excess of capacity; therefore, an e-ticket may not guarantee admittance. 1iota is not responsible for any inconvenience caused by unauthorized duplication.Hrmmmm. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. It does say however, check back tomorrow for updated info - and to not print out your ticket till it's updated.

I wish they'd be clearer about these things. because i WILL BE PISSED if i come all the way from England to be told that i cant get in  Thats what i mean they seems te be releasing a hell of a lot of tickets for a 2,000 capacity venue. We'll have to wait and see what tomorrow holds
