You can use technology in so many ways. Some of these are bad because they can isolate people from the real world, and that happen so frequently especially among the youger generations. I don't like the abuse of filming, for example. How the hell you can enjoy a concert with your HD camera in an hand and with the cell phone in the other!! I will never understand that. :/ I'm with Billie joe in this.

The good ways are many too...

Faster communications, more possibility to share experiences with people from all over the world ...

If people wouldn't look at me like I'm a crazy person, I would love to start using Rev lingo to address people.

As for the hypocrisy issue, I've come to realize that they don't always practice what they preach, whether it's their fault or not. Whether it's the Green Day merch at Wal-Mart, Twittering (I don't think the level of their tweets shows real 'addiction', just trying to connect to their fans, instead of just as a PR thing run by greenday.com/Warner), or whatever, it happens. Is it bad that I don't care, though? Because I don't think it's a big deal. When you're signed with a major label, stuff will happen that you can't control. At least here, they're trying to be personal.
