Ila Reto Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Raised in the barnyards of heroes and cons"bygones" as in, letting bygones be bygones. and now what the past generation has blown off, we're dealing with head-on.
Green Day Luigi Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 I think you are all crazy for even listening to the demo. They didn't want us to. I'm kind of glad they changed it because that's what demos are meant for. I never listened to the demo, but they are meant as a rough draft. They aren't meant as something a fan should get hold of an take to heart and memorize. You shouldn't even be comparing which is better. You weren't even supposed to have the demo. Someone stole it from the band you love and gave it to you and then you disobeyed their wishes and listened to it greedily like you would die without it. I think the final is fantastic. I don't care about the demo. I don't care that I never heard it. The band didn't want me to hear it, so I don't want to hear it. I love what they gave me a lot.This. I never heard the demo either because I waited until the album came out. I'm glad I never heard it, the official song is amazing, imo.I completely agree with both of you. I've never heard the demo either and never will.
Eirik Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 the lyrics were so much better:"im taking a loan on my sanity for the redemption of my soulwell i am upset from this tragedy and the 21st Century Fall"exempt.
Guest Shangri-La Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 THAT LINE IS freaking genius! i mean its speaks the whole everything what is going wrong today!Zoe ..where is this demo again?? I kind of got lost in the middle there somewhere...whats yo email, woman?"bygones" as in, letting bygones be bygones. and now what the past generation has blown off, we're dealing with head-on.I remember the debate about whether it was "bygones" or "barnyards"Good times.
Guest Shangri-La Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 i think we came to the conclusion that it was bygones I honestly thought it was barnyards at first though. They both make sense.
Lauren Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Is that sarcasm?I legit thought it was backyards...
Juan Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 The opening piano in the demo makes me want to actually LISTEN to it. I always skip the intro in the album version. It's too long and boring and it's the same as See The Light!Dude, that's the point
The Breakdown Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 its settled then, even though it didnt need to be.bygones
Darkirion Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 And the finalization?"A dream, america dreamI can't even sleep from ?????A ???, america ????Belive what you ??? from heroes and cons"--I really don't know it.
Ila Reto Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 exempt. hah yea, thats how i say itbut wouldn't "upset" make more sense? just sayingalthough i do agree, "exempt" is what i hear too. the piano part was cool, though. but a bit long. actually, i think both beginnings are a bit long.
thisisAB Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 ThisWhile I do like the album version, there are certain things about the demo that I enjoy more. For instance, the piano at the beginning, and how he says 'From Mexico to the Berlin Wall' instead of 'video games to the tower's fall'Also the second part of the song, when the guitar speeds up, goes faster in the demo (I think, I haven't listened to it in a long while) and I liked it more. That line reminds me too much "of from Anaheim to the Middle East" from Jesus of Suburbia (I Don't Care).I heard the demo a few weeks after the album's release, so I could properly compare it to the album version and like the album version better. I'm really glad I didn't listen to it before, cause it would've ruined the album for me.
Guest Shangri-La Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 And the finalization?"A dream, america dreamI can't even sleep from ?????A ???, america ????Belive what you ??? from heroes and cons"--I really don't know it.Original:Oh dream, American dreamI can't even sleep from rainstorms 'till dawn.Oh bleed America, bleedbelieve what you read from heroes and cons?Album:Oh dream America, dreamI can't even sleep from lights early dawn.Oh scream America, screambelieve what you see from heroes and cons?
JHyena86 Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I just found my file of it and listened to the demo for the first time in months. I had forgotten how awsome that piano bit was.
Metanoia Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 honestly.....i liked the demo better.......... but the album version is amazing though
Nzap Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I heard the demo a few weeks after the album's release, so I could properly compare it to the album version and like the album version better. I'm really glad I didn't listen to it before, cause it would've ruined the album for me.This, and nothing to add.
Juliette Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I like both, they're different. I think the final version works best for the album though.
.Brian Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 The drums are different .. and i love both versios Original:Oh dream, American dreamI can't even sleep from rainstorms 'till dawn.Oh bleed America, bleedbelieve what you read from heroes and cons?Album:Oh dream America, dreamI can't even sleep from lights early dawn.Oh scream America, screambelieve what you see from heroes and cons?I liked the original better.
