shredz Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Waiting is a great song! Warning is my favourite album because I love EVERY song on it. Waiting is no exception.
Mar Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 WAITING is such amazingly TIGHT melodic song. It's got this wonderful multi-personality dimension to it...its got the sweet opening melody...into slammin power chords...followed by the 60s guitar vibe (particularly in the middle solo)...then the awesome acousticy section...and back into beloved Green Day power chords. Its all punked-out boppy and innocent and Happy Days before they runied it with Joanie Loves Chachi. I can't help but see the Weezer Buddy Holly video run thru my head when I hear WAITING. Good description!
Maddy. Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Yay, I finally got the Warning CD. Waiting is now everyone's favourite.
mechanicalman Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 it's definitely worth waiting I see what you did there.
shoegazeloser Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I see what you did there.Extra money for this man.
Salmonator. Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Sorry if this is off topic, but whats rocktober?
Modern Zero. Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 This is one of my favorite songs off of Warning.
J'net Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 You forgot to add some important info! Its melody is taken from the song "Downtown"? (Not sure who by)I use to be madly in love with this song, I still really like it!The entire melody doesn't match the song, "Downtown" - just parts of it. And I doubt that was intentional, so I wouldn't say it was "taken from" the song.
Specs_101 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 i think it should be played live more I think that too i mean i would of loved to have heard it Friday night. Maybe on their next European tour
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Okay, I'm a bit late with this, but I've just realized that I don't know what the phrase 'color me stupid' means and it isn't in the dictionary either, and since it's a lyric in this song, can anyone please explain to me what it means?Haha, sorry for the silliness of this
J'net Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Okay, I'm a bit late with this, but I've just realized that I don't know what the phrase 'color me stupid' means and it isn't in the dictionary either, and since it's a lyric in this song, can anyone please explain to me what it means?Haha, sorry for the silliness of this Well, it just means really, "I feel stupid" or "You can think of me as stupid."I can't remember where the phrase "color me ... " (fill in the blank) comes from - maybe an old song? But I would think "literally" it kind of means ... If you're coloring a picture of me in your coloring book - you should color me so I look stupid. Same as if you were saying "color me with blond hair and blue eyes because that's what I look like." Of course, it doesn't "literally" make sense to "color" someone stupid - it's just an expression. So he's saying he looks stupid - maybe his mouth his hanging open (he just said dumbstruck, which not only means speechless but is sometimes used to mean astonished). These are just my first thoughts spewed out quickly. I hope it helps! Can anyone else add to this?
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Ok, thanks And yes, it certainly helped.
pisquano Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I can't forget that moment...I was swimming in a pool in 2001 when I heard from a radio station a green day song for the first time. I fell istantly in love. That song was waiting.
