It's funny - 'Downtown' is a song I always fucking hated, it feels cold. Then Green Day find this specific place in it, open it up and the sunshine floods out. That place is hope.

Ooooh. "Waiting" is my favorite song off of Warning. It's just too pretty. It's probably among my top 10 favorite Green Day songs... If I could actually come up with a top ten.

WAITING is such amazingly TIGHT melodic song.

It's got this wonderful multi-personality dimension to it...its got the sweet opening melody...into slammin power chords...followed by the 60s guitar vibe (particularly in the middle solo)...then the awesome acousticy section...and back into beloved Green Day power chords.

Its all punked-out boppy and innocent and Happy Days before they runied it with Joanie Loves Chachi. I can't help but see the Weezer Buddy Holly video run thru my head when I hear WAITING.
