I would imagine of how the release of the video occured but it is rumour so I am not sure if there is any truth to it.

Ah, ok. That would make more sense. They probably are, since it confused everybody.

Maybe Warner will be a bit more relaxed about it being on youtube now the video is on Green Day's Myspace page. Least I would hope

I love this more every time I see it.

It makes the entire concept of the album make a lot more sense :)

I still love the guy sliding down the market decline. He's so amusing. I think it's one of the most current parts of the video that people can really understand.

I checked Green Day's Myspace and it wouldn't let me watch the video there because I guess it's not available in the US.

No...I am pretty sure it is just your computer, because I can watch it

^ Ah. Your right. I just went back to their Myspace and it worked. Weird.

You know what, I'm just gonna put it out there: in the video, around the line "Born in the era of humility," didn't anyone notice that one of those faces looks strikingly like Roger Daltrey of The Who? The hair and the facial structure kinda gives it away.

Yeah, as a song on itself and single it's better without the intro, but when you listen the whole album the intro adds something to it.

I feel the same way.

Great interpretation. I really like the idea that he's telling his parents' story through the album. Yeah, this video has really changed how I was reading the album too. Instead of thinking of Christian and Gloria as the class of 13 (which, like you, I was doing before), now I'm thinking of "No One", their son, as the class of 13, and them as the "bastards of 1969." And it's making me think about the "long lost son" part more too. Like, not just that he's lost in the chaos of the 21st century, but because his parents are so lost themselves, he's pretty much on his own--he can't rely on them, and he can't rely on anything else in the world around him either.

Funny, I've been going back to the "my name is No One/the long lost son" lines over and over again in my mind for the past few months, because when I was first listening to the album I was expecting him to be a character, like Whatsername in AI, but he never really seemed to come into the story again. But now I feel like he's really been there after all, in the ways you're saying. I feel like everything is suddenly coming clear! Either that or I'm just reading waaay to much into this video...

I feel the exact same way as you...I don't know how I feel anymore, because I assumed C&G were the class of '13, because I assumed that it was taking place in 2013 (I viewed C&G as kids of about 18). But as you said, the "no one" seems to be the class of '13, yet we don't seem to hear from him again.

LOL at the amount of time I spend thinking about this band.

I just saw this video on Scuzz this morning and there was a different part in the video to the normal version. The part is when he starts singing "my name is no one the long lost son, born on the 4th of july". Normally there is a silhouette kinda thing zooming out until its on a TV, but the version i saw this morniing had Billie's silhouette on a spinning coin. Kind of like the way the Queen of Englands head is on the back of English coins. :ermm:

I noticed that as well. Scuzz seem to like to be different and usually it is for the better; they always play the proper version of 21 Guns that starts with the dropping bullet, they usually play JOS uncensored and now they have a different 21CB video.

Personally I much prefer the silhouette rather than the spinning coin (which I think is supposed to be a quarter). And I notice that everybody has censored out bastards, unless Scuzz have a post 9pm version.

I can not believe how much I love this video.

I watched it 2-3 times in a row, and every time I found something I haven't seen before.
