My Chemical Romance. I can't see why people always compare them to Green Day when they sound nothing like each other!

^ I mean, they're both rock artists, but they play two entirely different kinds of rock. I don't really listen to MCR, but from the songs I have heard, they're nothing alike.

Disney said the Jonas Brothers are like a cleaner version of Green Day.

I wanted to puke.

Yet another reason for me to hate Disney...they are really starting to pile up.

Mostly Blink 182. Because I can't stand them. I had an ex who kept trying to convince me they were better than GD and made GD popular. I think you can all figure out the #1 reason I got rid of him...

My Chem comparison I think is mostly due to both were really popular that time, and similar fashion...music however not so much...

I dislike when people compare them to old punk bands to prove they aren't punk. Most of them don't know the facts when they do it.

I really don't like it when they're compared to MCR, they don't sound anything alike.

And wtf, Jonas Brothers a cleaner version of GD? I really don't know what to think about this, all i have to say is, way to go disney!

^ I'm dying to see where that Jonas Brothers thing came from. It's hysterical for Disney to make that kind of "comparison".

Dear God.

It's statements like this that make me want to find everyone associated with Disney, shove a porcupine up their ass, and mow them all down with a King Tiger tank.

Good Charlotte! I've surprisingly heard a lot of people say that they "sound exactly alike." I hear absolutely no resemblance between the two bands, Joel Madden has a really whiny annoying voice, where Billie's is totally the opposite. Also, it does get annoying when people say that if it wasn't for Blink-182, Green Day wouldn't be around. It is most definitely the other way around...

Good Charlotte, Sum 41 and Fall Out Boy despite they sound nothing like them.

MCR and Green Day are so different yet good but I don't like them being compared to eachother. They're far away from eachother the only thing they do have in common is the black shirt with the red tie and Gibson guitars, that's it..

I dislike people who say Green Day is 'Emo'....

Agreed.

Agreed.

The same, it sucks so much.

With Good Charlotte :|, what similar people see in those two bands? :/

i hate it when people say Blink is a better and improved version of Green Day. i'm like... wtf, Blink BARELY has 10 songs that are worth listening to.

...that was a bit harsh

Those kind of statements usually come from people who think American Idiot was their first album. Green Day was completely absent from pop culture for almost 6 years (when Blink-182 was at their peak), so I can see why that would happen. But it was definitely Dookie that paved the way for Blink-182.

And I'm not sure why everyone is hating on Blink-182. I agree about the other bands like My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, etc, but Blink-182 makes very fun music and the members seem like very cool, funny guys. I've always been a fan of both bands, but more-so with Green Day of course.

I'm not sure why some people brought up U2 and Metallica. Completely different genres of music. Besides, Green Day should be flattered to be mentioned with those two bands. They've been around for a while and they pioneered their respectively unique sounds.

This!

I hate it when GD are compared to bands like U2 and such.

The Blink comparison annoys me. Blink have always been pretty much a toilet humour, college bratty pop punk band, where as GD have always been somewhat deeper than that. The only thing comparable between the two is that they are both trio's. Also the comparison to U2 and other stadium rock bands is kinda shallow

OMG - one day I was in the car with my dad, and "The River" came on the radio. My dad (who I consider to be pretty aware and with the times when it comes to new music, and is a fan of GD) was like "This isn't Green Day right? It sounds just like Billie Joe. A lot." I didn't hear the resemblance. Then, not even a week later, my mom heard the same song and went "This is Green Day?" I was like "No, why?" And she said, "Wow, he sounds a lot like Billie Joe."

I DON'T HEAR IT! I feel like I'm missing something, lol, because I don't hear how Joel Madden and Billie sound alike.

i think it has a similar timing or something like that, and if you hear it (without paying attention to the voice and lyrics) it's possible that you may think about Green Day... but if you hear the voice, you'll inmediatly realise that is NOT Green Day e.e

i hate when they compare them with The Network... IT'S OBVIOSLY NOT THEM!
