Jason Alvarez Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Well, I don't because I'm poor as shit and terrestrial radio is free (and since it paid my family's bills for many years, it seems natural we'd stick with it) And XM/Sirius is not profitable at all, hence the merger, so I guess not that many people are listening to it! What about Zune, iTunes, or Rhapsody?
RobyRoom Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 I have a theory as to why no one cares about 21 Guns - it sucks. It's a beautiful song. Billie Joe is an amazing ballads writer. If think about a compilation of all the ballads he's written throughout the years I would burst into tears in less than 2 seconds:. 21 Guns included. I hope they win some Grammys. The critics seemed to appreciate the album.
Morgawr Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 21st Century Breakdown is actually doing quite well. It was never going to be as commercially successful as American Idiot because albums don't sell that much anymore.Too many people download illegally or just buy individual albums tracks from Itunes. The last time ANY album sold over 10 million worldwide was Amy Winehouse in 2006. These days the best way to measure an artist's success is through the success of their tours and Green Day's tour has done well. Artists make much more money from live shows than albums. That's why Madonna makes so much money when she hasn't had a hugely successful album for ages.

They also haven't had a hit single off their album, Green Day have 21 Guns and KYE was #1 for 7 weeks or something. I think the album is doing quite well and they keep winning viewer's choice awards, which means that people still love them!Up 4 spots to #2 on VH1's Top 20 Countdown! Great job voting everyone!

A lot of the people are saying "Fuck the stores, I'm goin' on the Pirate Bay, Bitch!"
Miss Hedgie Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Well done Green Day...I love this song....

Simple factors are, different musical industry landscape, Green Day arent as popular ect. There are many things draggin' em down.Oh well, less morons at the concert. That would be a shame!
HoneyDo666 Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Green Day are much beloved all over the world. This song is amazing and Green Day so deserves all of their success!
