Blu Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 It's not Wikipedia, so I'm urged to not believe it. However, I will this time. It looks reliable.I'm sorry but you cannot seriously think that Wikipedia is reliable. It is the most discredited source. Professors/teachers will not allow it as a legitimate source because it is so unreliable. Due to the fact that anyone with internet access can log onto the site and change the entry to say whatever they want, the information cannot be held as fact. You could create a page claiming the sky is purple with pink polka dots. Does that make it true? Someone could go to the Green Day page and change it to say that Billie Joe divorced Adrienne and he's now 25 years old, has 6 kids and Green Day has another new record coming out in 2010 with the title to be announced next month. Does that make any of it true? Definitely no. Is Wikipedia a fast an convenient source? Yes. Is most of the information generally accurate enough to get you by? Yes. Is it scholarly and reliable? Hell no. Please, I beg of you, never call Wikipedia reliable again. Please. Find a primary source instead.
Greenday_Aussie Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Can't the creators of Britannica edit something too? Really, it is the same, it's just that everyone can contribute, making Wikipedia the best.On the 39/Smooth Wiki page..it says Dookie sold 39 Million....Wiki fails.
watsername182 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Yay!I'm actually quite surprised.Didn't think it did that well.Who knows, it may reach platinum soon?
BuriedInAHole Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 The radio stations play it pretty often so I thought, that it would be sold much often
Katarina. Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Yay! Actually didn't think it would do so well!
RobyRoom Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 it's not that good That's what I thought, myself.
St. Banana Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 even though its my least favourite on the album......im happy that it made gold
Jason Alvarez Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 It's sold almost 900K now, let's hope it goes platinum soon!
Jason Alvarez Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 Radio stations today suck.True dat.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Wooooo congrats to Green Day
HoneyDo666 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 You watch when East Jesus Nowhere comes out. Hell to the yes!
Library Girl Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009  This news made me smile today! Congratulations to Green Day! But Platinum is coming next. And I do guess that EJN will be sold even more often. (Well, at least when it will be sold in the rest of the world as well!)
Smoothed Out Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Yay! One of my favourites of 21st century breakdown...Well done!
Generation Zero Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 awesome congrats to the guys !!!welldone, you deserve it
alaniluau Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Yay 21 Guns really deserves it. Great job, boys!
Michael128 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 You watch when East Jesus Nowhere comes out. I wouldn't get my hopes up. The VMA effect was almost non-existent.
Maddy. Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 I wouldn't get my hopes up. The VMA effect was almost non-existent.It got Katy Perry bobbing her head.
thisisAB Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Wow, it didn't think'd make it gold, but it's goo that it did. Hopefully EJN goes at least platinum, it's better than 21 Guns.I wouldn't get my hopes up. The VMA effect was almost non-existent.As awesome as the performance was (bridge part!) it's sad to see that no one really cared afterwards.
Bastard of 1967 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 It got Katy Perry bobbing her head. I loved seeing that.....just think about how many of her tween/teen fans would have seen that and picked up the subtle hint that "yeah, those old men up there can still rock with the best of 'em." I wouldn't get my hopes up. The VMA effect was almost non-existent.[disagree]It put 21 Guns back up in the top 10 most-requested songs on our modern rock station here, and put it on our top 40 station's map, at least in the DC metro market. Not a bad bounce......[/disagree]
