RobyRoom Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I don't know if anybody realized that there are changes in the piece...there was normally no vocal line in the instrumental bridge....but there is now....I have heard that vocal line before....I believe they are part of the new arrangement,,,its hard to sing as a choir as one person LOLRight. And this makes me even more curious about the new 21 guns version with the AI cast
parinaz Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 billie joe was out of tune, the sound quality was bad (although that wasn't necessarily their fault), and they just seemed to lack a bit of spark. ive seen them do a lot lot better.BILLIE IS DEPRESSED , ALRIGHT EVERYONE?
Tiffx Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 BILLIE IS DEPRESSED , ALRIGHT EVERYONE?Um, yeah no.
emmaILGD! Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 BILLIE IS DEPRESSED , ALRIGHT EVERYONE?... I thought it was an alright performance, not mindblowing, not shit, but alright
Isabel Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 BILLIE IS DEPRESSED , ALRIGHT EVERYONE? Oh, ok. That explains everything
Mar Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I think this explains it very well. Stripped down, personal performance that's still pretty damn good.http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1626840/2...green_day.jhtmlMTV just loves them I liked this quote at the end: "Seems that even when they're stripping things down, Green Day are still plenty massive." Yeah, even though I wasn't the biggest fan of this performance, I still think they're amazing live, imperfections and all. I still am filled with jealousy at all of the people who get to see them today! First glance, I thought it was a Ramones logo. Hard to tell in the photos we've seen.I thought that at first too! But I'd only ever seen their logo with a black background, while this one was white.
spark in the night Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 they didn't seem to have their usual spark in this performance.yeah I wasn't there
Kaddi. Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 BILLIE IS DEPRESSED , ALRIGHT EVERYONE?Uhm... no.
Brandon R. Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 It was pretty good. I think this is a simple case of Green Day being so awesome live all the time that a few minor mistakes get scrutinized a whole lot more than they should. It happens. But it's not the end of the world. It wasn't complete shit or anything.
rinu Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I just watched their performance,it wasn't that bad.
Abbey. Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 AMAs:-thank you for posting the backstage press conference...that holy moly out of billie's mouth tickled my funny bone-21 GUNS performance was a bit painful -the photo of billie and joey - so sweet - i think mrs. armstrong has some dominant genes in that familyi didnt see the acceptance speech video in the thread if someone has already posted it could you throw it on again? thanks!

But it's not the end of the world. It wasn't complete shit or anything.Very true! And no, definitely not complete shit. We saw complete shit tonight (I'll let everyone pick and choose their own example of "complete shit"), and Green Day did not (nor will they ever) fall under that category!
Tubbie Head Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 no vids from the acceptance speech? and other interviews if there are any?? xD
ANJI Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I found this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbFMDH5f8BoNot the acceptance speech tho...still looking!

We saw complete shit tonight (I'll let everyone pick and choose their own example of "complete shit"), and Green Day did not (nor will they ever) fall under that category!99% of the entire show was shit. I hate they put Green Day towards the end because sitting through some of that was just straight painful.
Tubbie Head Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I found this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbFMDH5f8BoNot the acceptance speech tho...still looking!AWESOME!! Thank youuu

Nova-Caine Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I haven't seen the performance yet, only the beginning, if the band are tired as everyone is suggesting, or ill, they need to rest up and not strain themselves anymore right now, the Aussie fans are waiting and they care just as much about the band as everyone else does. Guys rest up, take care of one another.Love you lotsx
Fuzz Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 BILLIE IS DEPRESSED , ALRIGHT EVERYONE?quiet, you. back in the cage.
Brandon R. Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Same, I was only watching for Green Day and Gaga, and I had so much homework to do, it wasted my time! Again?!
sydneygirl Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I finally watched Green Day's performance and I can't see that they were flat or tired or not as good as other times (like some comments I've read here). I think they were great. They performed the song with feeling and emotion. 21 Guns is not a raucous rock song, it's a ballad and they performed it perfectly well. They all looked great and Billie sounded lovely as always. Great to see them up there
EuropeanIdiot Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I found this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbFMDH5f8BoNot the acceptance speech tho...still looking!Cool! It's so funny to watch Tre. He just looks around like a little kid and makes weird faces. The usual.

Then again I know Green Day would never disappoint their fans.
