You can be mainstream and still send a message, and make the music that you want to make. Plus somebody said that LA was low on eyeliner tonight because Billie Joe bought it all, yet he didn't even wear eyeliner tonight. They just have to try and make something up to bash them about just to feel an ounce better about themselves, when at the end of the day they're just pieces of shit that wish they had the money Green Day had.

Kate Austen Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I just got back from attending this. So let me give you my impressions:Basically, I thought the performance was very underwhelming. I'm not really sure if Billie was sick or not , but his vocals sounded "heavy". They sounded off the entire time. Most of you know this already, but I've been deeply let down by the fact that Billie has stopped singing the "guns" in falsetto. But I've kind of accepted the fact that he can't hit that note live (which is why he is stopped doing it). But tonight...it was just TOO obvious. At the end of the song he tried to hit that high note, and his vox completely cracked. It was really... I feel like they need to stop playing 21 Guns live (on tv) - because it sounds so bad for the band. I don't want to sound ungrateful. The overall awards show was fun to attend. I got to see some great acts, and it was nice being in the company of good people. But at the same time, I basically went for Green Day. And it was a let down to see them put on such a mediocre live performance. I thought I would never say this..but Lady Ga Ga put on a better performance then them. Okay, I know i sound like a total hater. And I really do apologize. This is just how I felt after seeing this in person. I even just got done watching the TV broadcast of it, and it only confirmed what my ears had heard. Bah.

They just did a huge tour, they never have a chance to just breathe, and plus the AMA arent a big crazy award show its all mellow shit, they did a fucking amazing performance and i loved it Billie sounded amazing. So any negative comments are just ridiculous, they kicked ass. Who cares if it wasnt a crazy performance, it was a great one, and Billies vocals were amazing as usual, especially when he held one of the notes for a while, I teared up
